🚨 New feature alert We've just pushed a big update to the app stores (in review) The major addition is "key points" at the top of each article In true NewsCord fashion, this will be in a carousel that gives you key points overall on the first card... (1/2)

The euphemisms that the Western mainstream applies to normalize Israel's invasion of the occupied West Bank are designed to normalise ethnic cleansing. We need to be hyperaware of these tactics and call them out. Share with the layperson who might be unaware.

The playbook to sanitize ethnic cleansing: 1. Using soft terms such as 'evacuated' and 'crackdown' instead of 'forcibly displace' 🧵

Normalization: The Associated Press whitewashes Israel’s forced displacement of Palestinians, framing it as “Israel confronts militants” to justify and minimize relentless attacks. But what's worse? Misleading framing or skipping the news altogether? 👇🧵

NYT omits Israel's ongoing bombardment of Lebanon while reporting on their refusal to withdraw - crucial context missing from their coverage.

Mainstream media were quick to dedicate articles to the appearance of a released Israeli hostage. Today, at least 4 of the Palestinian hostages released today were in critical condition. Barely any headlines mentioned this and those that did, applied scare quotes to delegitimize.

To Western Media, the detainment without charge and torture of Abu Safiya is not worth reporting on. The reality is Abu Safiya is a hero who dedicated his life to saving people, including through a genocide. He is a symbol of bravery and should be across front pages globally.

NYT has perfected manipulative language at the cost of real journalism

Israel has killed 110 Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire began and has fallen far short of the agreed aid deliveries. Yet, major outlets have buried this, omitting its ceasefire violations from headlines. 🧵

Only one Western mainstream source, France 24, reported Israel's killing of two women, including a pregnant woman, in the West Bank yesterday. Even then, it quickly echoed Israel's unverified justifications.

The double standard couldn't be clearer. Palestinian hostages, released after months of Israeli torture, return visibly battered - yet go unreported. But the moment an Israeli hostage looks unwell, it's headline news. The article is disgusting and offers no context of Israel caused starvation.

Our aggregation technology is getting stronger and stronger. Our app has found 353 news outlets covering Trump's proposal for ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Navigating contrasting narratives has never been easier.

Western media attempts to normalize Trump’s proposal for ethnic cleansing in Gaza by casually echoing his statement without any critique and, sometimes, even cherry-picking quotes that aim to justify the proposal. A news analysis thread 🧵 (1/4)

The U.S. plans to sell more arms to Israel after 15 months of genocide in Gaza - continuing its role in supplying weapons as Israel devastates the region. Meanwhile, mainstream media (except WSJ) largely ignores Washington’s support for war criminals.

How can such an egregious act go unreported by the mainstream? Most of the world is completely oblivious to the fact that Israel killed a child in Gaza today after targeting a civilian vehicle - despite a 'ceasefire'

NewsCord could only scan The Guardian and NBC News from the Western mainstream to report on Israeli spyware targeting WhatsApp users. NBC News didn’t even mention Israel in the headline. In a world where most only read the headline, this simply isn’t good enough.

Despite Israel firing 335 bullets at the car Hind was hiding in, the BBC’s February 10, 2024, headline still says she was merely "found dead," omitting how she was killed. The BBC helps bury Israeli atrocities, enabling genocide.

Today the BBC revealed that they can, in fact, name attackers in massacres - just not when the attacker is Israel
