Let’s just take a second to acknowledge how great Xcelerator at Knott’s is.

I’m over winter! #dorneypark

And the world rejoiced.

Excited that Dorney Park has announced some stuff for 2025! Replacement slides that seem named Lightning Falls and Cascade.

Our next Map Monday brings us to 1977, and the introduction of the popular rainbow logo 🌈 . The only new attraction introduced was the historic Gondola ride which only ran for a portion of the year.

❤️

The Roller Coaster at Hanayashiki is the oldest coaster created by TOGO. Opened in 1953.

Some views of Hanayashiki Park in Tokyo. The park is very small but packs in a decent amount of rides. It’s very quirky. Sinfully ugly here and there but then a beautiful garden in the center.

I love finding old Dorney Park memorabilia. 🌟

Hanayashiki Park is in Tokyo and has existed since 1853 in various formats. At some point it became an amusement park owned by coaster manuf. TOGO. Also home to TOGO’s oldest coaster. More on that later. Here is a weird seesaw cage ride that seems adored by the public.

Cost cutting measures at the new company are getting intense.

😂 #Stinger

Fuji-Q is home to the defunct Do-Dodonpa S&S Thrust Air Coaster. It’s super sad that I missed experiencing this one. Most of the ride was standing when I visited, only a bit at the end had come down. I think more is down now.

Fuji-Q has their retired coasters represented in the park with these murals and actual trains from each coaster! I like this. Nice way to honor the past. Very Japanese. Also: Moonsault Scramble! I was fascinated by that ride as a kid!

Hersheypark 2026 construction?

The slide tower being worked on at Dorney Park looks like what’s left will remain. All slide pieces carefully removed. Assuming the supports left will sprout new slides in the spring. Announcement should be in January!

Fuji-Q also has the largest Thomas Town kids area that I’ve ever encountered. It had a ton of interesting kids rides and was well themed. If you make it to the very back of the area (seriously the area is huge) there’s even a cute and sorta weird dark ride!

Ms. Pac Man is especially frightening.

Takabisha is the last large coaster I rode at Fuji-Q. There’s a clone of it rather close to me that I never bothered to ride. The beyond vertical drop is so beyond vertical it’s silly …. like unnecessary. The rest of the ride, if you ride defensively, isn’t bad. The launch into inversions is nice.
