The interesting thing about the Broadcom results was that Infrastructure Software gross and operating profit and margins were huge thanks to VMware. It’s also notable that AI semiconductors are margin dilutive compared to non-AI. Interesting.

It seems that one of the biggest challenges for GenAI supercomputing OEMs is margin dilution. Traditional data center is consistently more profitable and is recovering which is great news for the x86 portfolio of the chip guys. Yeah, supercomputing was never great business. Bragging rights.
