It is deeply disturbing that just two weeks ago, two Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota were targeted in an attack in which one lawmaker and her husband were killed, and the much of the mainstream media has moved on.

Just to give a sense of how insane the birthright citizenship stuff is, this is what the constitution actually says about the matter. There is literally nothing controversial about it. Either 2+2=4 or nothing means anything.

I'm actually working on a video essay rn about campaign finance and how the system creates hurdles for working people who want to run for office! That's why we need reform. We need to overturn the Citizens United decision, enact ranked-choice voting everywhere, and get dark money out of politics.

A question for any game devs out there who've worked with @evilhat.bsky.social 's FATE Core system: How many tweaks and hacks to the system are enough to justify making a standalone game, rather than just making a supplement? I assume just a setting isn't enough, but where's the Theseus threshold?

Worth reminding everyone that the current highest ranking Democrat in America openly admits he bases his decisions on what he thinks an imaginary person would want and today he and most of his allies are struggling to understand how somebody like Mamdani won by talking to voters who actually exist

New Yorkers: today is a good time to contact your elected officials who failed to take a stance against Cuomo - like Schumer and Gillibrand - and explain to them why you voted for Zohran Mamdani and what it means about what you want the future of the Democratic party to look like.

The Democratic establishment has been put on notice tonight.

NANCY PELOSI: We must find the next generation of Democratic leadership. Young, charismatic and exciting candidates who can energize the party. People that voters love because they're not 80 years old and sold out to big capital. CHUCK SCHUMER (behind sniper rifle): Found one PELOSI: Take the shot

They’re going to try to make you feel insane for opposing this war. They’ll ignore protests and downplay any opposition. They’ll try to strongarm you into submission. They did it with Iraq and they’ll do it again. And then a few years later they’ll pretend they were with you all along.

A Dem lawmaker and her husband were killed by a guy for their political views and it’s already out of the news.

Ideally, a country should be led by a person that understands that other people are real.

The boycott continues. #BoycottTarget

Shouldn’t the NY Times headline note that this new policy breaks the law?

Dammit. We just can't have nice things. According to the USC Gould Immigration Clinic's own IG account @uscimmclinic, this post is NOT THEM. The USC does appear to have in-person immigration clinics (see their IG for info) but are not affiliated/associated with whoever is behind this phone line.

We are in an information war. Social media platforms are terrain. This isn't hyperbole. They seized Twitter and it has done immeasurable damage. Bluesky is better defended, but they will attempt to seize it as well. Block on sight.

One month apart.

Those cheering for war aren’t the ones who will be sent to fight in it. Remember that.

"To everyone who pulls me aside to whisper with the best intentions 'You have already won', I am sorry, but the days of moral victories are over. And as my father told me years ago, 'When the Right wins power, the Left writes a great book.' Those days are over too." -Zohran Mamdani

The Fight/Don’t fight battle is over. Dems that are more moderate on policy need to get on board with fight or they will be left behind.

Law enforcement officers have apprehended Vance Boelter, who is accused of murdering DFL House leader Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. Gov. Tim Walz and law enforcement leaders are expected to speak shortly. minnesotareformer.com/2025/06/15/v...

The best way for politicians to honor the troops is to not to send them off to war.

To everyone protesting today, stay safe and thank you! Scream extra loud for those of us that are physically unable to join. #NoKings

Fun fact: in the 1960s, Civil Rights protestors were given literal classes on nonviolent protest; they didn't all just spontaneously know what to do. So, if you're planning on showing up, this weekend: read this comic. And if you're staying home, signal-boost it/link it around.

A great thread

Trump underwater in literally every single issue. 38% approval overall. 27% approval on his spending bill. 40% approval on deportations. Musk also at 30% approval. 38% approval for RFK Jr. 35% approval for JD Vance. Nobody fucking wants any of this. poll.qu.edu/poll-release...

Nuremberg trials for ICE. 100% serious.

It's been really demoralizng how much the press mindlessly repeats the lie that the National Guard was sent to quell violence. It was sent to start violence. People know this, so just say it.

But we were dragons. We were supposed to be cruel, cunning, heartless and terrible. But this much I can tell you, we never burned and tortured and ripped one another apart and called it morality. Terry Pratchett #discworld #hannibal #theworldisburning

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

This is the spirit of Los Angeles. This is California. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. #FreeDavidEndRaids

I feel this might be important to remind some active service members: “I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…” If you swore this oath, turning weapons against civilians breaks it.
