I come back and read for 10 minutes after a week dealing with family health stuff and y'all already have me exhausted.

This is a massive point. I keep being told I have to understand these people. I DO! I'm from the Florida Panhandle. They were murdering local abortion providers when I was in high school. They had a beach that said "No N#$%^$ Allowed". They marched with the Klan. I know who they are.

Imagine being so bad at Sunday school that the pope yelled at you personally

Saying "don't worry, they'll stop it, our scientific research is valuable and profitable and important to tuition-paying students" suggests you've misunderstood that it has been an ideological project all along. The humanities were all those things too! It was never just about profit and loss.

My anxiety is thru the roof, I hope 9 cups of coffee & 14 hours on social media helps

This is frankly insane. This is what trying to build a white power military looks like. Why wouldn't you want African-Americans and other minorities in the military? Esp. when historically minorities were recruited as cannon fodder (ie Vietnam)? Bc you want to use the military against minorities.

Tattoos for everyone!

And while Nagoya Castle is a cool museum and all, the best castle in Japan is Inuyama Castle a short train ride away and this is indisputable. I will take no questions at this time.

Tom Brady has made two comments about his playing career for every one comment about the game.

I think an American flag created entirely by black men at the Superbowl is one of the best pieces of art I've seen in my lifetime. I hope it actually killed some folks. And I hope it finally closes the fucking book on the argument that we shouldn't use the flag to fight the God damned fascists.

A kid got on my son's bus wearing a Drake shirt in a small town in Massachusetts and the entire bus sang "Not Like Us" to him. Even the Kidz Bop version is a banger.

Thinking of inverting my "likes" and separate feeds so that politics gets pushed to a separate column I can consume when needed and my general "frens" and colleagues talking about other stuff are what is mostly on the main feed.

No time for Ishiba to celebrate his birthday as he prepares for his summit with Donald Trump and his government tries to move its budget through the Diet. All of this and more in This Week in Japanese Politics. open.substack.com/pub/observin...

So, they're totally breaking up after the Super Bowl, aren't they? And by April we'll have a new song out of it.
