Some things I never heard about when I was a kid that therefore could not have existed and were later caused by vaccinations: testosterone, international sea lanes, real vanilla, and John Lee Hooker’s version of ‘Boom, Boom’.

I'm thinking about the modern trend to rename 'soldiers' as 'warfighters'. What does this do for the hymn 'Onward, Christian soldiers'? No good. You lose the scansion. And 'warfighters marching as to war' sounds silly. Keep soldiers soldiers. And keep sailors seamen.
