If you have an accountant for taxes, they can usually help with this as well. Mine helped me spin down a company, and it went pretty smoothly. Would recommend saving the bank account for last cause there will be a bunch of little expenses.

Sort of 😅 I didn't have a lot of engagement during the actual stream, but it has lead to productive follow up conversations from folks who caught the recording. I want to try it a few more times and see if it improves with some better promo and consistent scheduling.

I’m a big fan! Used to do this via scheduling, but I’m trying out doing it via livestream right now www.youtube.com/live/yfkf9kn...

And yes, I’ve seen that xkcd cartoon 😅 but I still appreciate when people strive for standards imgs.xkcd.com/comics/stand...

Of course, that’s all “part of the job.” But, no one is holding your hand telling you this when you’re getting started. It also takes confidence. It’s very tempting to just stop at “We can make these changes.” Being confident in your abilities, pipeline, and client make it possible.

It feels so simple typed out here, but there are a couple of implied details that make this work: 1. We have a clearly defined scope of work. 2. We have clearly defined the change request. 3. We can make an accurate estimate. 4. We included an out of scope rate in our initial agreement.

Exciting! Think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it will be 😄

Trying to intentionally step away from work, but still doing everything else 😅

💯 have found that doing manual onboarding is really helpful as well. Something about that human touch helps the costs feel lower.

I get that! I also used PHPUnit forever before moving over to Pest. Would recommend giving it a go–I feel like it's made my tests easier to read and write, and I really like the architecture tests (pestphp.com/docs/arch-te...). This would make a great video too–thanks for sharing!

Congrats, that's awesome! 👏 I'm still trying to get better at that every day 😆

This drives me crazy! It’s even worse when there’s a whole team in there with you 😅

I think this falls under “go where people are waiting”, but once we were building a product for college students. So, we grabbed a box of donuts, made a “free donuts” sign, and walked the UT Austin campus talking to students. We refined our idea & pitch a ton based on the feedback, so well worth it.
