Boris Johnson's unworkable, unrealistic Brexit deal will never get 'done'. Those in the know, know and always have. Leaving the SM/CU (still Brexit) was always bad for Britain. Any party that clearly explained this (none have) and hammered it home in detail would have truth and facts on their side.

Absolutely this- and his murky paymasters are even worse. But remember everyone, they're not the problem, immigrants are, go on, look over there.

This is a very interesting take on both the political landscape in the US and also the seemingly spineless, cowering response to Trump from European leaders. Written by Mukul Kesavan and highlighted by the priceless (IMO) Patrick Cockburn. www.telegraphindia.com/opinion/mons...

This from Leo Cendrowicz in the I Newspaper today is well worth a read regarding our ability (or otherwise) to strike trade deals since Brexit. Well informed, clear and detailed. Everything that the Government's approach seems not to be. inews.co.uk/news/politic...

Effective communication of information is so important. The government has to focus on driving the narrative of who they are and what they are doing. At the moment they seem like passengers being swept along in the coverage (or not) of their work. And they're in power.

I'm currently making a current affairs programme about weight loss drugs (Wegovy/Mounjaro etc). I'd love to hear from anybody with experience of these who would be keen to share their stories. Doctors/healthcare professionals I'd value your opinions. Feel free to share/DM me. Thanks so much.

No surprise to anyone who's been paying even the slightest bit of attention.

Understanding- something the MD of M&S Food seems to be lacking in regards to the importing and exporting of the very products his company sells. I am now convinced that we have totally failed to explain how the SM/CU works to even those at the very top of the (excuse the pun) 'food chain'.

Please spread this far and wide. I rely on experts when making programmes. @vivamjm.bsky.social is an expert in an area that is hugely relevant in the UK and not being explained properly or given the relevant space in our national discourse.

This should not be news! People in the know like @vivamjm.bsky.social have been warning us about this for YEARS now. Follow him, he is an expert. This is another example of entirely predictable outcomes from leaving SM/CU. I am trying to make some headway with this and will continue to do so.

Just imagine for one moment that it was the Israelis that Trump was suggesting should be permanently moved out of their home. This disparity in how we view the Palestinians compared to the Israelis has to stop if any progress is to be made. I hope the Labour party vocally support this👇 stance.

youtu.be/Rk_sAHh9s08?... I like this as well for the Native American singing.

Would love to hear Rachel Reeves say today: "We will ignite growth by rejoining the SM/CU, reunite with our European partners on trade and many other issues, especially security, and lead from the front. As for US, we'll make that judgement based on the actions of the current President." Chances?

Elon Musk, encouraged by his mother and an army of his cultish fans, is threatening tonight to sue a Washington Post journalist for pointing out on live TV that neo-Nazis welcomed his salute on Inauguration Day. Can we finally put the ‘he’s a free speech absolutist!’ BS to bed?

Very fortunate to have Series Produced the new series of Come Dine With Me that coincides with the twenty year anniversary of this icon of British pop culture. Amazing team, incredible contributors, and a wonderful show. Tonight on Channel 4, 5:30pm. We hope you enjoy it. youtu.be/ib5LGqsF6HM?...

You can't move on from something that isn't in the past- we live 'in Brexit' meaning it is ever present. The referendum is 'done' but how we Brexit is constant and ever evolving as is everything ongoing. The constant refusal to face up to it is bordering on childlike now and so, so disappointing.

He's going to try and serve more than two terms, isn't he?

This is a very good point (and as OB adds, he also bought the knife on Bezos' Amazon). We obviously regulate what goes into our bodies, surely we should take some responsibility for what goes into people's minds too?

Some good news today. Finally Leonard Peltier will be free.

Donald Tusk: "I am aware this is a dream: that instead of a #Brexit, we will have a #Breturn. Perhaps I am labouring under an illusion. But I'd rather be an optimist and harbour these dreams in my heart. Sometimes they come true in politics." ~AA

Why not announce an immediate ceasefire? What can either side achieve between now and Sunday apart from more tragic, unnecessary death? History tells us that this period will be used to inflict maximum damage buried beneath the hope. inews.co.uk/news/world/g...

When Rachel Reeves and the PM meet business 'leaders' and 'representatives' as RR is doing today and hear, as they must, that membership of the/a SM/CU with the EU would boost the economy, I'd love to know how they react. How hard does the elephant in the room need to stamp to be acknowledged?

I would suggest that an overwhelming majority of remain voters would too. Where does that leave us? www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Where we are now is the tip of the iceberg in terms of increased costs and less trade. Implementation of the (7 times delayed) TCA UK side will be much worse. Two better options: 1. Access to SM/CU as a rule taker-'soft brexit'. 2. Be a rule maker again and rejoin EU. This will not just go away.

We need to start explaining this 👇 properly.

Apologies, this 👇 is the thread I meant to post.

When will this make headline news?

I think it's about time we did, isn't it?

In this age of short form content, what subjects would excite/interest you enough for you to want to invest your time over an hour or longer? What are we missing as programme makers? What do you want us to explore, investigate and explain?
