This from the “man” who took credit for massive stock gains under Biden. Cause “the market is anticipating my return to the White House.” 🤣🤦‍♂️🤔🤡🧐🤦‍♂️🤣

Hey @MSNBC — can the sound department get the mic out of the crinkly candy bag or wherever the hell it was that was making so much godawful noise my head was about to explode?

Can we get the @nytimes.com to re-interview that “undecided” halfwit voter who thought all the allegations about Trump being a fascist were — quote — “CHILDISH.” Let’s ask her about Trump deporting people without due process and refusing to obey Supreme Court orders.

All of this because Trump wants to set some record for deportations. Ironically if he had left DHS intact they would have deported many, many more people by now and Dem’s couldn’t have done anything about it because it would have been done legally.

To all the people who voted for Trump — because they thought he’d bring down prices — even though he was talking endlessly about tariffs …

"Think about what kind of person you have to be that you get caught lying [and] double down on the lie." I went on a rant about JD Vance, whose dishonesty is in some ways worse than Trump and Musk's. Full video: www.youtube.com/shorts/ftHmU...

“In 2012, in Arizona v United States, the highest court in the land ruled that “as a general rule, it is not a crime for a removable alien to remain in the United States”. Got that? Not. A. Crime.” From my new Guardian op-ed:

The most notable fact about US politics at the moment is one that, for reasons of politesse, almost no one is allowed to say out loud, namely: the Republican Party has gathered to itself all the biggest losers and assholes in America. That's the real "sorting" -- all the worst people, clustered.

Elon Musk's own AI -- Grok, the one he literally created! -- has identified him as a lying, hypocritical shithead.

Biden made two MASSIVE mistakes that led us here. But most voters have no idea what they were. NOT RE-ELECTING Trump was the obvious, necessary thing to do. Too many Americans do not accept the grave responsibility of an informed vote — unclouded by personal animus, bias or partisan dogma.

A note on JD Vance's repulsive response to the deportation of a Salvadoran in "error": The whole point of his stunt is to show that Trump feels free to remove people even when the law *doesn't* justify it. I spoke to the man's lawyer. Absolutely hair raising stuff: newrepublic.com/article/1934...

The real issue is not “What are Democrats are willing to fight for?” The real issue is — What are *Americans* willing to fight for? It’s time for voters to accept responsibility of their actions. It’s time for voters to fight and inspire their political leaders. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/01/u...

Curious. If Joe Biden had come out and told Americans that a recession was “necessary” to rebuild the U.S. economy — who would have bought that? What would the media have said? How would the markets have reacted?

The real reason why America is in decline? The frightening lack of informed and critical-thinking voters. Public education is the nation’s biggest problem. It undergirds everything — from climate to the economy to national and world security.

Curious how ill-informed and thoughtless American voters are? Take a gander at these hapless folk. A Democrat who thought Trump woild bring peace to the Middle East. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/22/u...

Surfing under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Trump's bizarre new tirade over Elon Musk, Tesla, and the "radical left" actually shows weakness. Trump now sees that his political fortunes are tightly tied to Musk's DOGE disasters, and he sees Tesla's tanking stock as a very bad omen. New piece from me: newrepublic.com/article/1926...

I think when it comes to Trump, you could say “there is zero conception of the national interest” and just stop there. Trump is *only* about what’s good for Trump, and if that happens to intersect with what’s good for the country, fine, but I can’t think of an instance where that’s been the case.

Democrats: (@thedemocratsmv.bsky.social @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social) It’s not that hard to destroy Trump and DOGE. Jon Stewart has shown you how it’s done. And yes, you’ve been a little complicit in corporate subsidies. But own up to it and voters will respect you. youtu.be/utl2uLh1wVI?...

Go ahead Musk/Trump. Grab that third rail. Enjoy the massive surge of popular political hatred that will course through your bodies. 👍

In the coming months and years — the Senate filibuster is likely to become an important topic again. Here’s the threadreaderapp version of my original “Mr Smith filibuster” thread from X. threadreaderapp.com/thread/14034...

In the coming months and years — the filibuster in the Senate will likely become an important topic again. I don’t want to send anyone to X — so here’s the threadreaderapp version of my Filibuster/Mr Smith thread from long ago: threadreaderapp.com/thread/14034...

My last moment on Twitter was reading the #MAGA response to this Rolling Stone article. It was not what I expected. The Magats were DESPERATE to debunk the idea Trump is going to implement Project 2025. 🤔🤷‍♂️🤔 www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

As if needed anymore evidence that Trump is completely under the control of Vladimir Putin …

They had to skip the background checks. They obviously can’t pass them.

American voters have been told by the GOP for decades that the federal government is useless — or at best slow and cumbersome. They’re about to find out what life is like when the federal government is intentionally antagonistic to their needs — or — entirely nonexistent.

In a way, it's good that Trump picked Gaetz/Gabbard: It'll force Rs to say right at the outset whether they're good with Trump prosecuting enemies without cause and giving a Putinist great influence over our intelligence. On the pod, @meiselasb.bsky.social discusses: newrepublic.com/article/1884...
