I was lucky enough to catch Kendrick on his DNA tour. I took my 12 year old son with me. We were in the nose bleeds (literally the last row) when a man came over and handed floor seat tickets to all of us in the last row. That’s #Kendricklamar

I snagged the last copy of GNX yesterday, in anticipation of the Super Bowl. I knew the show would be great, but didn't anticipate just how important it would be. The choreography, political timeliness, and all the Easter eggs has me already rewatching it. People will be talking about it for years.

This Kendrick performance is blowing my mind. This is a moment that’ll be talked about in school in 50 years.

I hate jelly belly jelly beans. I don’t have time to sort through flavors one at a time. I eat jellybeans by the fistful. That approach doesn’t work with jelly belly jelly beans. My latest fistful tasted like leather popcorn.

Got a button maker and started with images from my portfolio. Super fun!

I added a print shop to my site, and set prices at an affordable price to make it easier to gift some art for the holidays. Check it out at www.nickfancher.com/fine-art-pho...

My favorite new music in 2024, if that’s your sort of thing. open.spotify.com/playlist/1OH...

I get seasonal depression quite bad, and last year I had the idea to make light chimes, which are clusters of prisms and tiny disco balls that hang outside each window. When the sun decides to make an appearance, the room comes alive, with spots of light and color dancing everywhere. So magical.

More fish eye fun from last week.

How has it taken me 27 years to buy my first fish eye lens? One light. That’s it. So fun! Thank you @mamanicoledavis for bringing emotion and swagger to every shoot 🙏🏼

Whenever I teach a class I end up learning from my students. For example, in slide 3 I stole @nickxleoni ‘s idea to use the shutter drag technique to capture Rachel’s head-turning motion. My next class is Jan 25-26 in Columbus, and is at a discounted rate until Dec 15. Link in bio for info.

On Halloween I went down to a DHL plant to make portraits of a robot, for @nytimes. The robot, named Stretch, can offload a truck in a fraction of the time that humans can, and at no cost to the health and safety of a worker. But just how much can a human still offer that a robot can’t replicate?

Recent shoot with Chat Pile. If you like heavy music but don’t know these guys, you’re missing out. #chatpile

I am a photographer and I gave a talk on my creative process, surviving childhood abuse, and navigating social media. I hope my journey is encouraging and/or helpful to you. youtu.be/cYPUBdRBOwc?...

Here’s a set from my latest Creative Portrait workshop. We explored just a few of the possibilities offered by using a projector as a light source. My next workshop is Jan 25-26 and is at an early bird rate until Dec 15. Link in bio for info. #photograhy #artist #photographer #nickfancher #art
