The race for Iowa’s most embarrassing Senator is always so competitive.

Casting call for weirdly buff and botoxed middle aged bald man who could convincingly be a tech exec but is *definitely not* a tech exec going out now

Seth Meyers’ use of SNL50 to audition for Lorne’s job was a Masterclass.

For everyone who wanted to turn Zuck's curly hair and muscle swole into a poster child for personal branding...

Do something great for a teacher today.

I will offer the annoying take on this: It's impossible do this unless you tell me how crispy each is fried and what the seasoning mix is. Yes, I am insufferable to eat meals with.

Why does everything they do sound like satire?

have to be honest... this first look does not engender confidence.

Mark, often thoughtful, slips into the reductionist.... Access to information at what cost? Legitimate debate: what is the cost in: Trademark? Actual theft? Energy usage? Water waste? Power in tyrannical hands? And you're asking people to research on a platform known to hallucinate falsehoods?

This is a bizarre take from The Atlantic, given the almost total absence of anything from the last 10 years and the extreme bias toward the 90s and the early 2000s. And the reality is a lot of the 70s and 80s folks either didn't want to be involved or even attend.

“I am sorry,” said Frog.

One of my favorite episodes of late. Very blunt and insightful about the future of mass-market retail cinema.

FYI, Amazon will no longer enable the downloading of ebooks to exterior devices starting February 26th. Here’s a tutorial on how to download your ebooks off of Amazon. You can use Calibre (free software) to reformat the kindle books to be used on other devices. www.tiktok.com/t/ZT2DQuRqn/

Taking a chance here... @josephfasano.bsky.social In the past 6 months, I've seen your poems crack the zeitgeist in the business world, completely unexpected for poetry. I host a podcast called Working/Broken. Would like to do a brief interview... are you open? Happy to move to DM, mine are open.

BBC just released damning research on AI assistants' news accuracy. Results: 51% of AI responses had significant issues. 19% introduced errors when citing BBC. 13% misquoted or made up BBC content entirely. 🤐🤐 www.bbc.co.uk/aboutthebbc/... via @ezraeeman.bsky.social

Now seated for The Brutalist.

There are two consistent forms of mass technological advancement: the kind that makes ads and the kind that makes wars. Google knows exactly the kind of pivot it’s making.

“Don’t be evil.” 🙄

Fascism is the loseriest loser political philosophy in all of human history, but what’s amazing about these current ones is they’ve succeeded in making it even more cowardly and pathetic.

Most of the mass-accessed internet only exists because of mass leveraged marketing algorithms that collapse as soon as you stop feeding them. It makes some things seem important only because someone knows how to use the bots make it appear so.

Good reading month in January with the blend of topics, styles, and formats that keeps me motivated and clear-headed. Other than the top 3 listed the others were not my favorite, but still good. The Bee Sting’s ending… WTF. #booksky

Mr. Free Speech finally says the quiet parts out loud. I will always hold the Muskheads the most responsible for whatever happens from all of this.

This kind of a Grammys runtime really belongs in January.

Will never stop laughing the song Chappell Roan blew the roof off the Grammy’s with, Atlantic Records heard it, told her they didn’t get it, then dropped her from the label a few months later so she had to release it independently & now it’s a generational queer anthem

This my writing hat. #amwriting #booksky

When time began to slow, Do you remember where you were? Perhaps I was busy with work, In a class, at a bar. How time flies. #writingcommunity #poetry #tanka #indie #writer #amwriting #photography #nature #originalcontent

Found the hook for a critical character in my current #wip: "Russell Mills turned on the small solar-powered heater in the greenhouse at the back of his property. 'Productivity is a function of managing the wild,' he whispered, warming to the work about to begin." #amwriting #FalseSpring

The more years go by the more I'm convinced that everything, yes, everything, that we think is happening is really the cerulean sweater.

From today's #wip, False Spring: "Being in the protestant tradition, calorically dense food and shoddily assembled social obligations were their primary weapons against communal shame." #FlyoverCountrySaga #FalseSpring #amwriting

You mean NVIDIA can't create a massive overproduction of computing power, convince tech bros they need it for their little AI bots that don't work, and then overcharge for a scarcity that doesn't exist? You mean that creates a bubble in the market? You mean things need actual consumer value???

Going to go write very rage-y things into my current fiction #wip where no one's little baby feelings can get hurt. #amwriting

➡️ January 20: FAA director fired ➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen ➡️ January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded ➡️ January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees ➡️ January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years Making America Great Again!

If a Democrat fired 100 FAA employees and put a freeze on hiring air traffic controllers 8 days before an airport plane crash, there would be a right-wing and media frenzy for weeks.

This administration bullied the FAA head to quit last week and disbanded the air safety advisory commission so yeah… maybe electing agents of total chaos wasn’t the best move?

I’m not kidding: those who delegate all their writing, thinking and creative expression to machines are going to wake up one day and discover that they can no longer write or think. You need to make your own art. You need to keep your brain working. You need to stay human.
