Quite literally, word for word, a total failure of Article I of the Constitution

It's helpful to remember that this is an exceptionally stressful time for many people and they should be extended grace accordingly

Appalling, soulless erasure that will not stand. Still up, for now, on the site are pictures of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, who would have words (or more) with whomever at the NPS did this today.

I love the Titans. If they pickup Aaron Rodgers, I will find another NFL to support.

I was so flabbergasted I misspelled they.

I honestly can’t believe the approved Gabbard.

That smirk into camera was everything.

Hard to beat the collusion allegations like that.

Purging dissent in the security services and giving loyalists power is something we *instantly* recognize in other contexts.

It’s really hard to tell my bar students that the Con Law questions they’re studying for matter. The constitution only means *anything* because we agree it does. Trump and his cronies are hell bent of destroying the rule of law and hoarding as much power and money as possible. It’s so bad.

I got TikTok to work on my laptop using a VPN.

Shit.

(Personally, I think this should very clearly be "strict scrutiny" but what I really think is that we need very clear data protection and data collection laws in the USA. State-by-state isn't cutting it and there needs to be a federal data privacy act.)

How to spook SCOTUS into blessing your unconstitutional law: provide the pretext of "National Security" and give it an imminent deadline so it escapes careful review. Let's hope this is the one time they give the govt this pass or else this decision will be a roadmap for how to violate the 1A.

I guess I just don’t agree that preventing China from accessing my data is an important governmental interest. I get a new email every month about my data being in the dark web. You can buy my data from any number of brokers. What government interest exists in protecting what is widely available?

I got myself some really nice new kitchen knives for Christmas. Unrelatedly, how do you know if a cut on your finger needs stitches?

Being a Vols fan has at least prepared me for this particular brand of despair.

That’s a catch. I’m gonna blow a gasket.

Can’t buy a flag tonight.

Down 21 in the first quarter. Right where we want ‘em.

I’m not having a good time

Maybe the Big 10 and the SEC should form their own league.

I’m gonna start skeeting some #BarPrep advice now that the February cycle has started. Up first is some advice counter to what you will probably see on Reddit: Read your commercial outline every now and again. The big books are more comprehensive than the lectures.

Noelle is a great Christmas movie.

there are no cases where the death penalty is warranted

I don’t get the Sunday Scaries because the weekend is no reprieve from the ongoing horrors of existence.

“Birthright citizenship” isn’t, and shouldn’t be discussed as, a special thing for children of noncitizens. My family’s been here for centuries. I have no claim to citizenship and no documentary basis for it other than because I was born here and the 14th Amendment applies to me same as anyone else.

It’s a shame that Georgia Tech isn’t in the ACC championship. When their QB is healthy, it’s hard not to think of them as the best team in the ACC this year.

Two very savable goals from LA so far.

One of the ~25 blimps still in existence is floating around downtown Atlanta with an ad for Dick’s Sporting goods right now. It’s strange to see a relic in real life.

Two things can be true: 1. Hunter Biden's pardon is far from the greatest threat to democracy and the rule of law that we face. 2. Democrats would be outraged if Trump had lied like this.

I am willing to be absolutely unbearable about this.

I think the real takeaway is that pardons are often more political than simple acts in furtherance of justice and we can assess presidential judgments on a case-by-case basis. Searching for some neutral principle or standard norm to assess pardons is not especially helpful.

that’s right. the better question is why isn’t he pardoning or commuting the sentences of other people who aren’t his son.

If I were Joe Biden, I would pardon literally everyone I thought Trump might go after. Also commute all the inmates on death row. And also get rid of the student loans, permanently. He literally has immunity. He should use it for good.

At some point they should stop getting more timeouts in this overtime system.

Ok I take it back.

GA Tech might reverse the spread tonight.

North Ave Trade School is looking pretty damn good tonight.
