Awesome presentation @keithdevon.com and @markwilkinson.dev at last nights @wpldn.uk.. I love how you build the section nav and the scroll animations. So simple, yet so powerful!

Great talk by @louisetowler.com on #a11y last night at @wpldn.uk. Louise share Indigo Tree's home-grown contrast checker tool, which has just about the best UI of any of (many) ones I've used previously. Thanks for Sharing 😎

Pretty cool. Shame there's no support for animation-timelime in Safari though.

See you there!

"First Look: Can Loveable.dev build a complex portfolio website?" from @jamiemarsland.bsky.social Interesting to make a cursory comparison of accessibility between the two... The AI version arguably slightly less bad than the original (but it's all React 😬). www.pootlepress.com/2025/02/firs...

Flexbox Labs is a visual tool that helps you create layouts using CSS Flexbox. I like such sandbox tools where you can play around without writing code. I think it’s important for designers to at least understand what flexbox can do. flexboxlabs.netlify.app/

This is cool, two of my favourite WordPress plugins have hooked up! Both have had major updates recently, making them a proper power-couple now. Move over Posh & Becks, Barak & Michelle, Elton and Kiki... S+F Pro & Generate Blocks are where it's at 😂

Another new client today totally unaware of the difference between WordPress OSS and wordpress.com. I wouldn't mind one jot if Open Source WordPress took on a new identity.

For the record, I do not recommend tipping your flat white over your Apple 'Magic' keyboard. It's glued together and impossible to disassemble to clean 🤬

An improved approach to calculating accessible contrast ratios is being considered for WCAG 3.0: ruitina.com/apca-accessi... As someone with a permanently skewed ICC profile baked into his firmware, I welcome the change!

Push notification from Lidl… I wonder if sales of their ‘USA’ range are a little down? 🤔

From the perspective of Brit, it's shocking watching the goings-on in the US. Is the strategy just to burn down much of what made America great? It makes no sense. I dearly hope it's the wakeup call we need as Europeans.

Wow

I've just had to log in to the Meta Business Suite. I feel like I need to undergo some kind cleansing of my soul.

Anyone using Brave browser on a mac having issues with your USB webcam running at low frame rate in Google Meet recently? All fine in Safari. Very odd.

Wishing all the best to those working for NGOs and local partners affected by the immediate pause of USAID funding by the Trump administration. Inconsequential in the grand scheme, but we just has some work cancelled as a result. The client described the action as feeling like the 'nuclear option'.

No sign of the frost today

Never in my years around WordPress have I seen so many folks who build sites for clients openly musing about possible alternatives. The leadership may no longer care for 'the community' or 'the ecosystem', for whatever reason, but it's these two factors that, IMO, give WP its superpowers. It's sad.

This looks interesting. Another contender to challenge WordPress?

Robert Miles' 'Children' just popped up on my Spotify. Can't quite believe is was released 30 years ago this month 😱.

My manifesto for a better 2025: 1. No billionaire to be allowed access to the internet. 2. All techbros must have decisions signed off by a responsible adult. 3. All weapons capable of killing more than one being to be substituted with a basic Nerf gun, or feather duster (in the case of dictators).
