As a woman in STEM I am happy to be celebrating International Woman's Day. I had to overcome the "girls are bad at math" that initially caused me to shy away from a STEM career. I got top grades in stats during my PhD. πŸ“ŠπŸ“ˆTo all the women and girls out there, don't let society hold you back!🧠

I'm very pleased with the reception of my first ever podium presentation at American Balance Society meeting. So great to see #vestibular and #balance research!

We're a month in to the new administration and important science in th US is being undermined at every turn. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

PLOS has issued a statement on recent US Executive Orders and scientific integrity. We are determined to stand firmly behind our mission, our values and our principles, and against any attempt at censorship or undermining of the core principles of scientific inquiry. plos.io/3D4O8cH

What does a scientist do when stuck at the airport with a 3 hr flight delay? Catch up on reading, of course.

One of the biggest let-downs after attending a conference full of presentations on advances in #physicaltherapy based on human health research is to read about additional cuts that will heavily impact future research. www.science.org/content/arti...

I had some fantastic conversations while presenting my poster at @aptaofficial.bsky.social CSM today. So great to have interest in an underrecognized topic: #Vestibular dysfunction in #parkinsonsdidease. πŸ«¨πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ§

At my first @aptaofficial.bsky.social CSM in over 10 years! Enjoyed the first presentation on #scientificskepticism. Hope the message continues to spread among PTs.

As a queer person and newly minted scientist, I am deeply second-guessing my decision to go soft-money in my career track. The new US administration is already causing so much damage.

My sweet dog, Maizie, loves to snuggle with me on cold winter mornings. I imagine she dreams of squirrels and endless petting.

I'm excited to be a part of the lab that conducted this research! Early #physicaltherapy could be beneficial for people with continued symptoms following #concussion. 🧠πŸ§ͺ

A large-scale study of #veterans suggests a possible link between #HearingLoss and increased risk of #ParkinsonsDisease, with hearing aids potentially reducing this risk when used within two years of diagnosis. hearingreview.com/inside-heari...
