Sharing another one of my Artisan Commander builds. This one's pretty spicy; it's built around the synergy between Ertha Jo, Frontier Mentor and Bigger on the Inside. The commander is Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer, who helps us find the two signature cards.

The 2025 Online Judge Foundry US Northeast Conference is coming up soon—March 29th. While primarily for judges in the Northeast, this event is open to all judges in the U.S. and Canada. apps.magicjudges.org/events/13740/

@gavinverhey.bsky.social Why was Idol of Oblivion printed at uncommon in M3C? It was the only rarity shift in those Commander decks, and got returned to rare in one of the Bloomburrow Commander decks.

I've judged Value Vintage as a side event at an SCG CON—it looked pretty cool!

It's March, which means it's time to disassemble another one of my Commander decks. Up next is my Shirei deck. Shirei proved to be way too keystone-y—either it stayed on the battlefield and I won or it didn't and I lost.

I have finally, FINALLY moved all my Commander decks from tappedout to Moxfield. Should have done so years ago.

👇For real. Nearly all Bracket 2 games I play are against new-ish players with precons, and I win most of them because I mulligan well and know how my deck works and how to navigate it to a win, not to mention a dozen other advantages. Doesn't mean my deck isn't Bracket 2.

Earlier today I swapped out Smothering Tithe in my mono-white Ardenn/Rebbec equipment deck for a Mantle of the Ancients in an attempt to power it down a smidge. Well, first game with the change I had it in my opening hand, and an opponent kicked a Maddening Cacophony. Oopsie!

Hey Magic players: it's your responsibility to make sure that all the cards in your deck look the same when turned face-down. If you've got a couple sleeves with bent corners, or some badly curling foils, etc., there's real potential for advantage there. You gotta fix it.

As someone who's previously designed their own fan-made Avatar-themed Magic set, you could say that I'm more than a little excited.

Was curious to see if o:"when ~ enters" still worked on @scryfall.com with these new errata. It does, which is genuinely impressive. Y'all are amazing!

😀

I've been seeing some people getting indignant about how Moxfield/Archidekt sorted one of their decks into a particular bracket, and extrapolating that to speak to the validity, or lack thereof, of the bracket system as a whole.

I opened a Radiant Lotus in one of my Prerelease packs last weekend. I glanced at it, thought "bad in Sealed", and set it aside. I was halfway through my next pack when I was was hit with a big "What Have I Become" moment. You can afford to spend a second feeling excited, Dennis. It's a Prerelease.
