must be incredibly frustrating and disheartening to have federal funding that was promised to you for important work suddenly and arbitrarily ripped away

The national security and cybersecurity impacts of this Trump-Musk fallout are out of this world. Musk and the DOGE boys have their tentacles all up in just about every system that supports US government function…

Will the Republicans wake the fuck up now? Or continue living in dreamland?

No joke, Trump has to fire all of them now. They're a sabotage risk to the administration.

If you read one thing today, make it this. Our current Undersecretary for Public Diplomacy, who for years has shared conspiracy theories and misogynist, racist dreck, who shut down the State Dept’s counter disinfo unit, has some rather suspicious connections to Russia. archive.is/Q818Z

Just finished @ninajankowicz.com 's book How To Be A Woman Online. I've kept a low social media profile in the past due to the reasons she details, but I feel more empowered to speak up and out with what I learned 💜

Ideas die in silence, and that silence just claimed @wilsoncenter.org In @thehill.com Jana Nelson reveals how its quiet dismantling reflects an assault on truth, expertise, and democratic debate, including the disinfo-fighting work of @ninajankowicz.com and others. thehill.com/opinion/inte...

Even though we expect it, it’s shameful to see US officials so overtly trying to tip the scales in foreign elections like this apnews.com/article/pola...

Seems like AI voice cloning likely to be in use here, though the article glosses over it. There have been several incidents involving high profile politicians and officials being duped with tech like this, though they usually believe they’re talking to a foreign leader, not being impersonated

SCOOP: The State Department's new reorganization plan includes the opening of an "Office for Remigration," a term popularized by far right extremists and neo-Nazis in Europe. The office will coordinate directly with DHS "to advance the President’s immigration agenda." My report:

According to Marco Rubio, censorship against U.S. citizens and residents is only okay when the Trump Administration is doing the censoring. He's denying visas to foreigners involved in what he deems "censorship"—aka regulators who stand up to Musk. americansunlight.substack.com/p/exporting-...

Thank you @ninajankowicz.com for speaking out - as Europeans our most valuable treasure is our national cohesions and our European project. We should not cave and get intimidated by our oldest ally. “Partner not friend” has never been so accurate. americansunlight.substack.com/p/exporting-...

In banning visas for alleged "censors," Rubio is hypercharging the censorship lie. He grossly misrepresents the actions our allies have taken to safeguard democratic discourse & public safety. I lay out the background and the ultimate goals here. americansunlight.substack.com/p/exporting-...

Also just noticed that lil Marco says he's big mad about "censorship actions against [...] U.S. citizens and *residents*" AND RESIDENTS, FOLKS Suddenly he cares about the speech of individuals like Khalil and Ozturk?! lolololol

Marco Rubio, in his current job, took the official actions that led to Mahmoud Khalil and Rumeysa Öztürk being abducted and imprisoned for their speech in the United States.

Hannah Arendt, sound familiar? "Totalitarian society, as distinguished from totalitarian government, is indeed monolithic; all public manifestations, cultural, artistic, or learned, and all organizations, welfare and social services, even sports and entertainment, are 'coordinated'."

Secretary Rubio (likely w/ help of extremist Darren Beattie: wiczipedia.substack.com/p/the-extrem...) just issued visa guidance that would bar foreign officials from visiting the US if they: -enforce social media regulation that their governments passed -talk about enforcing that regulation 1/

Telegram has announced a partnership with xAI's LLM Grok, launching a Durov–Musk marriage that is sure to give incels around the world towering, meaningless boners.

Last Week in Censorship.... Trump tries to gut Harvard’s international student program, the FTC targets Media Matters, and the Presdient goes after… Beyonce, apparently. Sad we chave multiple huge stories to include in this roundup every week. americansunlight.substack.com/p/last-week-...

President Trump's new pardon attorney, Ed Martin, described the men convicted of plotting to kidnap Gov. Whitmer as "victims just like January 6" and said that "on the pardon front, we can't leave these guys behind." www.detroitnews.com/story/news/p...

For the second night in a row, russia launched a massive drone barrage at Ukraine - and missiles are on the way, with bombers airborne and ships seaborne. For the first time ever, I am spending the night at a metro station. What a damn good 'peace deal'. Many thanks.

That million dollar Presidential Inauguration bribe is looking like a big waste of cash right now.

i think it should be a bigger story that the president held a meeting with a foreign head of state where he ranted about the most gutter white supremacist propaganda you can find on the internet

To me this seems like an attempt evade accountability; it’s much harder to find a quote of the crazy thing the President said when you need to search through a 90 minute madcap press availability rather than just hit ctrl+f

Really touched by this shoutout from Jana Nelson in a piece about the Wilson Center's demise under Trump 🥺 thehill.com/opinion/inte...

Wheeeeeeeeeeee 🙃
