As a humanitarian worker, I've been in a lot of conflict situations and really value the peace that nature offers. As a photographer, one who photographs megafauna, it's hard to gloss over the conflict in the animal world between predator and prey. So, I focus on animals at rest or play.

This is my current mood as we head into the Thanksgiving weekend. I feel like the to do list is endless... This bear threw out his to-do list! He was relaxing on a snowbank when we came across him. They're in Churchill for a few weeks before they head off to find more food for the winter.

This is one of my all time favorite photographs. This lion’s name is Kipunji and heads a pride on the banks of the Mwagusi River in Ruaha National Park in southern Tanzania. He had just finished a morning of lovemaking when he fixed his gaze on me. I was in a safari truck about 10 feet away!
