DeepSeek r1 is not open source. According to OSAID, a "open source" model has to provide - complete data information - source code to reproduce the model - model parameters r1 fails in first two. It is open weight. But a open weight model without reproducibility is similar to a executable binary

500 billion investment in stargate from oracle, softbank and openai sounds like a very absurd number. Oracle has a revenue of 50 billion, Openai is burning 5 billion a year. SoftBank, which had a 100 billion vision fund is mostly a flop. Not sure if Arab sovereign funds still trust them

Flat UI design is really boring and lazy. UI was much cooler before material design appeared. We don't perceive things as "flat" in real life, everything have some depth to it. While UI doesn't have to do pure emulation like skeuomorphism did, neumorphism feels like a good middle ground #ui #design
