"If this is the season of survival, the bitter time when all resources are sucked in by boundless greed, let us make of ourselves a thatched mat under the bracken, up on the clifftops, buried in the cold: of all colors, and very hard to kill." @swordsjew.bsky.social on moss and lichen and survival

This is a very helpful visualization. Whenever you are tempted to refuse solidarity or when people tell you that "the people" want fascism etc etc etc. There are A LOT of people who can be mobilized and organized towards something different than our current conditions.

"Attendees also got to witness more than 20 famous architects dressed as buildings they had designed—buildings that would become fixtures of the New York City skyline."

Every year one of the dudes from Magic System throws a huge (like… HUGE) free concert for all the kids in the neighborhood he grew up in and uses the sponsorship money to build a new school. Amazing band!

"Okay, get some snaps of that Mangione character, but you better not pull any bullshit where he looks like the subject in a 16th century painting called 'Christ taken at the Garden of Gethsemane'." "Okay, now don't be mad but..."

Biden is considering commuting the sentences of most, if not all, of the 40 men on the federal government’s death row, WSJ reports

For millions of older borrowers, these next few weeks likely present their last shot to be freed of crushing debt. Many of these debtors have more than paid back their original sum, but compounding interest and faulty relief programs keep them financially trapped.

The plaintiffs in the big NCAA case are trying to get a judge to create a college athlete players union by judicial order, and want one group in particular to be the union. No organizing at all. A recipe for a union that gets rolled. @mattbrown.bsky.social: www.extrapointsmb.com/p/how-is-a-j...

State-sanctioned murder is not justice & President Biden must take action to save lives. On Human Rights Day, we’re urging him to use his clemency power to commute and re-sentence the 40 individuals on death row. Tune in: www.facebook.com/share/v/1A3W...

Just a reminder that if you buy Refaat's new book If I Must Die thru @openpoetrybooks.bsky.social all proceeds will be donated to the Sameer Project to support displaced Palestinians in the south of Gz: open-books-a-poem-emporium.myshopify.com/collections/...

Since everyone is talking about pardons, there are 40 prisoners on federal death row. Biden should commute their sentences to life imprisonment. If he does not, the next administration will execute them.

If Joe Biden doesn't commute the sentences of people on federal death row, the Supreme Court is soon going to be greenlighting their executions

For the next 50 days, Biden is still president and he has the power to free lots of people. He has clear authority to cancel the federal student loans of older debtors. That's why we're heading to Washington Dec 11. If you want to join us, let us know.

In case you needed this.

NEW: Porsha Ngumezi is the fifth case we've reported on in which a woman died after not receiving a D&C or its second-trimester equivalent in time, or at all. Her case raises questions about how abortion bans are pressuring doctors to avoid standard care even in straightforward miscarriages.
