‘Songs of the Sea’, what are they? Do you have knowledge of a song, in either Irish or English, that is related to life along Ireland’s Atlantic coast? If you do and you would like to share your story, we would love to hear from you. #MaritimeHistory www.ouririshheritage.org/content/arch...

Many significant gold objects of the Bronze Age are in @nmireland.bsky.social because of 19th century collectors whose private collections form the core of national museums. One was Dean Henry Dawson who acquired a LBA gorget from Borrisnoe, Co. Tipperary in 1836. One of only nine to survive.

I will never stop believing that St. Brigid is a result of the Catholic Church adding a veneer of Christianity to the much older and beloved Brigid of Celtic lore. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigid

Brigid or Bridget was both a Celtic goddess & one of the patron saints of Ireland. The Christian church appropriated Brigid, & in the Middle Ages her Christian successor actually had religious tending her sacred flame! Here’s an example of that pagan/Christian tradition.

The National Museum of Ireland is one of the most interesting accounts to follow. The Museum not only documents 9,000+ years of Irish history - it also chronicles modern & contemporary history. Give them a follow! @nmireland.bsky.social

A wonderful opportunity if you have the essential experience! 👇 Also, I can't believe it's already 10 years since marriage equality in Ireland! 💚👏 #Lgbt #MarriageEquality #Bluesky
