Stop fucking saying he blamed “DEI,” which is some abstract, non-tangible idea. He is blaming people of color having jobs he thinks they aren’t qualified for. He’s blaming race. He’s being racist every time he says it. Journalists need to get fucking backbones, my word.

More of this! No mincing words, no placating his ego, he's not king he doesn't have absolute power. www.maine.gov/governor/mil...

Love seeing my Governor show a backbone when so many haven't. One of my senators also is doing a great job, keep it up Angus King. The other one though? I don't think Collins knows what a spine is anymore.

Sketch for the new digital painting I started. #art #digitalart

There's a handy acronym for this www.nytimes.com/2025/02/19/u...

Update: leak was worse than the video I shared earlier and took forever to stop even after the water was turned off. Thankfully the memory foam mattress topper was ruined but protected my mattress so just a couple damp spots that should dry fine. Half the ceiling tiles in the room are toast

I am close to crying. This is my bedroom right now

That’s how you write a headline, people.

Been laying in bed the last couple hours unable to sleep because I keep thinking about the painting I started and where to go with it. I need sleep, I have to work the day job in the morning

Measles high infection rate is the reason we have not yet been able to eradicate it. That rate means you need a very high vaccination rate to prevent outbreaks. It is possible, but not with current levels of institutional distrust.

The evidence shows vaccines don't cause autism. We know this. What vaccines do cause is adults. So when someone says "don't vaccinate your kids, vaccines cause autism," what they're really saying is "better a dead child than an autistic adult." That's what they're saying. Every time.

For those curious, my other "I don't care what the science says" issue is the biological basis of LGBTQIA2S+ existence. As a biologist, I find it fascinating. As a biologist, I also don't care, because it doesn't matter why or if there's "a reason." People should be free to exist as they see fit.

So I had this plan for a new painting and instead I think it's going to be a set of two paintings. So the concept was a pregnant women playing a fiddle on a seaside cliff calling forth a kelpie. But while thumbnailing I think both work better as their own piece.

‼️ The National Park Service has REMOVED mentions of transgender people being involved with Stonewall. Not only did the remove the world "Transgender" but changed "LGBTQ+" to "LGBQ+". The federal government is attempting to erase us and take away our history. This pride, we riot.

Been looking for reference photos of pregnant women for a painting I'm in the prep stages for. The ads in being served on other platforms now think I'm pregnant. 🤦

If you use Krita for digital art, I found a cool plugin that automatically flips your canvas for you at an interval you pick. I am so bad at remembering to do that and this is helping me so much. github.com/litmus-ritte...

I hate this timeline where fucking Mitch McConnell has more spine than most of the Republicans

People should understand the role of the ‘political commissar’ in China and the USSR

It's truly wild that the vast majority of everyday (read: straight) people do not know a drug exists that prevents HIV transmission with astonishing efficacy and minimal side effects, and that it's cheap to produce, but it isn't just dispensed from candy machines on every street corner globally

Some folks sure are keen on renaming things while also being against people changing their names.

Mr Rogers and Sesame Street taught me love, kindness, compassion, and empathy. Star Trek taught me to dream of and aspire to help create a better and more diverse world. Star Wars and Tolkien taught me to fight for freedom, even in the face of overwhelming odds and great evil.

I’m crying this is so funny
