The Lesser Short Toed Larks were nice to see, often heard first.

Only saw two Stone Curlew on Fuerte, but this one by far showed best!

Spectacled Warbler, Trumpeter Finch, Berthelots Pipit and Great Grey Shrikes were among some of the more common birds on Fuertuventura.

Eastern Yellow Wagtail. Only rarity we saw on Fuerte.

Red vented Bulbul from down South on Fuertuventura.

A few bits and pieces from up in the mountains around Betancuria. African Blue Tit and Island Canary.

Fuertuventura Chat. One of a few seen last week. This one showed best!

Black Bellied Sandgrouse

Cream Coloured Courser from out on the plains. Not they many seen.

Barbary Partridge. Saw a few around Fuertuventura

Great to see lots of Houbara Bustards on Fuertuventura this week. Even saw some displaying.

Bewick's Swans and Cranes from the fens last week. Also a pair of Tundra Beam Geese in amongst many Pink Feet near Eldernell.

1cy Glaucous Gull from Cottenham Long Drove the other day. @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social

Nice to see several adult Caspian Gulls earlier today, as well as a Black Redstart, Woodcock and Cattle Egrets in Cambs today.

Hemmed in by fog and traffic on the M25 en route home from Cornwall, the thought of connecting with the Yellow Warbler seemed a dim and distant prospect. However it showed beautifully this afternoon and so did the Scops Owl at Broadstairs! Nice to see @tsbirding.bsky.social!

The thought of a 2 mega day is absurd, but it actually happening is indescribable!!! Brilliant views of the American Yellow Warbler at New Hythe at lunchtime! We then carried on to Broadstairs in the twilight to watch the awesome Scops Owl with @noahbai-123.bsky.social!!!

Nice day in Cornwall. Started with Little Bunting at Boscathnoe and then finding a Glossy Ibis at Trethewey!

Good Christmas Eve birding around Penzance and Mousehole. Lots to see including two very showy Great Northern Divers, and a Kingfisher at Newlyn harbour, Yellow Browed Warbler and a Siberian Chiffchaff at Sandy Cove and a stunning male Vagrant Emperor at Mousehole!

Good to get some birding done on the way down to Cornwall on Monday. Breaks up the long journey. Kentish Plover at Burnham and Merlin, Water Rail, Cranes and lots of wildfowl at Greylake!

Nice to of found a Kittiwake at Grafham on Sunday; one of my most wanted birds in Cambridgeshire.

Great to see the Glaucous Gull with @tsbirding.bsky.social @laziobirder.bsky.social @birdergirl.bsky.social and other friends today at Cottenham Long Drove. @cambsbirdclub.bsky.social

Great to see the Hume's Leaf Warbler today at Spurn-very elusive at times, but seen well. Also many Brent Geese, Red-throated Divers, and Godwits also at @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social

Great to see Seven Lesser White-fronted Geese-with a Greater in with them for good measure-at Flamborough today! Also many birds on the sea, mainly Auks and Divers but also Scoter and Kittiwakes as well Fieldfare, Redwing and Pink-footed Goose elsewhere! @flamboroughbird.bsky.social

Black-necked Grebe from Walthamstow Wetlands with @samodonnell25.bsky.social @thomasinns.bsky.social and others.

Red-crested Pochard from Fisher's Green on Saturday.

The long-staying Amur Stonechat at Trimley has allowed me to catch up with a number of birding friends over the past few days which has been great. Both that bird and the Landguard Purple Sandpipers have been remarkably obliging! Yesterday a Golden Plover on the common added to the mix #ukbirding

Purple Sandpipers at @landguardbo.bsky.social with @david-walsh.bsky.social.

Amur Stonechat at Trimley with @david-walsh.bsky.social today. What a show-er!

A couple of photos from a recent trip to Spain. 12 lifers! Highlights were, Ruppell's Vulture, Lesser Crested Tern, Bald Ibis and White Headed Duck. All pictured.
