Forgot there was a new @danielbachman.bsky.social album out yesterday but just got a timely reminder via a selection from it just played by Cricket on @wfmu.bsky.social Grabbed it. Love listening to Everybody’s Songs while stuck in Saturday morning grocery Hell. It helps.

One of the few things that consistently makes me feel better about our moment is kids. They know better is available and aren’t afraid to demand it. That rules.

Me, seeing an announcement of a new Water Damage 2xLP earlier this morning: "I will not buy this. I am saving $ to make a huge career gamble and the macroeconomic climate is shit." Me, hearing WFMU’s Jessica play a track from the new Water Damage 2xLP : *heads to Bandcamp and pre-orders it*

Do you remember the first noise table set you ever saw?

An ambitious statement / declaration that surprised and delighted me. Highly recommended!

“Discover” tab got me again.

I just don’t see how an Executive Order saying Mike Love was the real genius in the Beach Boys could be legally binding

I can't imagine defining my life by hate and fear. In fact, it doesn't seem like a life well spent or lived at all. I want to be the person who loved as much & as many people as possible. The only way to do that is with an open heart and a willingness to learn/listen. Music taught me that.

“President Plane Crash” is right there for the taking.

There are multiple bands named Zonk on Bandcamp, but I heard “B” by *this* Zonk earlier today on @wfmu.bsky.social ‘s Garbage Time program and it was an instant purchase. Great guitar/duo improv jams that on first listen seem informed by a wide variety of sounds.

There’s more than corn…

Orzo is a delightful pasta and should be held in higher regard.

In a parking lot at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, sipping on a warm $16 beer, yelling at Wang Chung to focus on the “To Live and Die in LA” OST while someone steps on my heels as their kid asks to go home. 🤘

New map update

Somehow never seen this. It’s my Favorite Thing, for now.

For a couple different reasons I’ve been thinking about this song a lot. youtu.be/k6hblXVSrJ4?...

“We believe their struggles reveal the heart of God, and we cannot worship freely if some among us live in fear,” he said. “We are seeking the ability to fully gather and follow Jesus’ command to love our neighbors as ourselves.”

One of those mornings where the kiddo refuses to brush her teeth until I explained one of this week’s New Yorker comics. The visual depiction of a penis may have vaulted this selection into her all-time Top 5.

Philly hasn’t dominated this hard since the Dead Milkmen opened for Reptile House IN Baltimore.

Haven’t watched a Super Bowl for a decade; it’s just not for me. Totally cool if you find enjoyment in it. I can’t help but I wonder if tomorrow it will be discussed as a much different sort of spectacle than what typically transpires.

I can’t wait to see the Village People’s interpretation of the Ring Cycle.

Good Guy at a Good Label doing Good Things. 👏

Happy First Issue of Rocknroll Magazine Ever Day. Paul Williams released Crawdaddy! today in 1966.
