I follow articles on #neurophenomenology, and this is one of them. It explores soldiersā€™ experiences through a neurophenomenological lensā€”integrating #consciousness and the body, showing how warā€™s sensory, bodily, emotional dimensions shape its psychological impact. ojs.acad-pub.com/index.php/LF...

I enjoyed playing Horrified Board Game with my boyfriend so much that I decided to take the ā€œGreek Monstersā€ version, which has all existing visual references to Greek Mythology. Board games are one of the good ways to reduce stress, especially such cooperative games šŸ˜

Lately, I notice my research shiftedā€”from the policy of identities to the policy of #consciousness. Iā€™m exploring how diversity emerges as an evolving, embodied, and contextualized process in enactive cognition. Inspired by Varela and Hayles, this shift is about my survival as an intersex person.

Today, I attended an insightful webinar, ā€œPositionality & Reflexivity: Activists and Allies in Academia,ā€ organized by Psychosocial Studies Intersex ā€“ International (PSI-I). This professional network promotes dialogue among researchers, health professionals & stakeholders on #intersex/VSC topics.

Itā€™s great to observe how #embodiedcognition reveals biases that shape body language. During my short vacation, I noticed it in how some white Americans position themselves, gaze, and react when sensing ā€˜differenceā€™ā€”immigrant or nonbinary. Bodies speak what minds suppress, creating embodied shadow

On my birthday, February 18th, I celebrated with my boyfriend Nathan during our short visit to Portsmouth, NH. We ice skated, explored the city, had a delicious dinner at Black Trumpet, and then spent a wonderful time at the Hotel Portsmouth, a lovely place in the former mansion. Such happinessšŸ„°

When I encounter events on infant consciousness, early mental development, or memory mechanisms, I engage my interdisciplinary inquiry to explore how they might connect to the development of #intersex/VSC infants, especially if they have experience of undergone non-consensual cosmetic surgeries.

Hello, Could you recommend funding sources or grant opportunities for PhD students specializing in consciousness studies, embodied cognition, or embodiment? If you know of any relevant foundations or other resources, I would greatly appreciate your insights. Thank you! #Consci #AcademicSky #PhDSky

Wow, the trailer for the new 3rd season of #TheWheelofTime is just gorgeous! OMG, there are so many exciting layers of story. It looks like it will be better than even the previous season. I look forward to watching the new series on March 13, 2025 youtu.be/qk0D4OV95bQ?...

It was a lovely time to meet my chosen family and spend a wonderful time together in their house in Greenport, NY

I recently talked for @aliusresearch.org about our neurophenomenological study of the psychedelic DMT. Check it out below if you're interested in the neuroscience of consciousness and psychedelics! www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nFk...

Yesterday, I attended a powerful art exhibition,ā€ GREAT AMERICANS: Selected Paintings (2013-2024),ā€ by Ajamu Kojo, a Black Brooklyn-based artist and filmmaker. It was dedicated to the tragic event in the #BlackhistoryMonth of the USā€” Tulsa race massacre or the Black Wall Street massacre in 1921. šŸ˜”

As a student #APA member, I received a general letter inviting me to share how recent executive orders may impact research. Iā€™m curious if other U.S. academic organizations are doing the same. This seems like an optimistic step in mobilizing researchers against growing threats to science in the US.

This article is a good point to consider about the possible future in the US. I still hope that the midterm elections will bring change, but if it doesnā€™t happenā€¦. what do we need to do to strengthen democracy? fpif.org/the-end-of-a...

Iā€™ve just attended an event ā€œPsychosocial Considerations and Supportive Approaches in Genetics and Genetic Counseling of Families with Variations of Sex Characteristics.ā€ This article was shared with mentioning how religious beliefs impact parentsā€™ decisions about #intersex doi.org/10.1080/1369...

My government documents currently reflect my female gender identity, but under Trumpā€™s executive order, I could presumably be forcibly categorized as ā€œmaleā€: ā€œa person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the small reproductive cell. #intersex www.washingtonblade.com/2025/02/04/m...

On Sunday, I enjoyed ā€œSaints, Sinners, Lovers, and Fools: 300 Years of Flemish Masterworks,ā€ an exhibition dedicated to Renaissance and Baroque paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts created between the 15th and 17th centuries in the Southern Netherlands (Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA). šŸ˜

It looks like the Democratic party is deeply demoralized. I donā€™t see the Democrats, except the Progressives, organizing the resistance. Other Democrats, like Senator John Fetterman, even support Trumpā€™s appointee. What is happening with the Democratic Party? www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Meditation and breathing are very helpful resources, especially when you feel like you are in the center of a destructive hurricane that stresses your life day by day.

The day was spent at the Peabody Essex Museum, a delightful museum in Salem. It helped to immerse in the atmosphere of the Flemish Renaissance & the mysteries of American spiritualism. I distracted myself from the embodiment of Hell on Earth as in the paintings of the great Hieronymus Bosch. #art
