Remnants of Red by L Nabang in Midnight was so wonderful. I'm kind of blown away by this short story of magic, sisterhood and regret. It HAD me throughout. #booksky #blackbooksky #shortstories

Still on Midnight & Indigo 21 speculative stories by black women writers and I loved The Dissapearing Garden by Fan Sissoko 💕 Made me think about how my grandparents never used to refer to where they lived as "home" just by the address. #booksky #blackbooksky

Currently reading the Midnight & Indigo Anthology and L Marie Wood's story, Saturday is so creepy and atmospheric! #booksky

I have been distracted from my fantasy bingo by this audiobook because I find queer coming of age stories irresistible. Of course I'm loving it 😂 Gay the Pray Away by Natalie Naudus annnnd she reads it. Such a great voice actor. #booksky #queer #diversebooksky

Okay, so I finished House of Frank and it was... Fine? I didn't love it and I found a tension between how much I was supposed to like the characters and how much I actually did, which really reduced my enjoyment. #booksky

I have it on reasonable authority that it was frog mating time this morning. I used to be grossed out by all the frogs fucking in the pond but now it's definitely a pond highlight. Arguably, the best thing about the pond.

I'm very obsessed with my book journal layout this year. Finally done my January pages 💕 #booksky #bookjournal #journalling

Reviewers, looking for your ARC read? Check out my client Denise S. Robbins' brilliant literary cli-fi via @netgalley.bsky.social. Thanks to @binderybooks.bsky.social & @mynameismarines.bsky.social for bringing this one to the world! Coming 6/3/25!

😭 I think I need to wear a wrist support to read a paperback now. Tbh utter hubris to think I didn't. #booksky

Metal from Heaven was faster paced than I usually enjoy but I was completely hooked by the end. I gave up on remembering the whole cast and just floated on the narrative and fast flowing scenes, the humour and the love I had for the world that was built, for Marney and the choir #booksky

Currently reading House of Frank - how could I not? This cover is everything 🥰 and it's a @binderybooks.bsky.social title! #booksky

I'm on a reading rampage this month and it's solely solely for a bingo that's been going on for a year and I want to complete every square 😂 I did such a poor job last year of bingo prep so I need to read 10 books between Feb and the end of March, which is a lot for me! #booktok

After a very long gap I'm returning to Metal From Heaven. This is a lesbian high fantasy angry woman's revenge story for the death of her childhood love. Very rich world building and strong unionist themes. #booksky

Okay this was too long to post a video on here. But this is a poetry book TBR, if you're so inclined #poetry #booksky vm.tiktok.com/ZNd1FyeA8/

Tesla's stock is ridiculously overvalued, and even a modest consumer boycott could tank the company, which accounts for the majority of Elon Musk's wealth. The divestment movement weakened apartheid South Africa. Let's do that again. slate.com/business/202...

Finished Artifice & Access and I loved that story collection so much! Second 5* read of the year! #booksky #diversebooksky

The lovely @amandajohnston.bsky.social of Torch Literary Arts gave me a shot last year and published this spec-fic short story, Excise. Cw: Body horror, cannibalism. It is now #HugoAwards season & I'd love any voters to give it a read & nom. #blackbooksky www.torchliteraryarts.org/post/friday-...

Apple has pushed iOS update 18.3.1, which again turns on Apple Intelligence by default. To disable it, go to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri > and toggle the switch at the top. You’ll also want to disable the ChatGPT Extension.

This story was so lovely! The birds made me giggle. I continue to love Artifice & Access 😆 #booksky

This is in my diary because... I know what I'm like and subs don't open until April 😆

Lessons in Botany is another banger of a short story in Artifice & Access. A disabled and trans reimagining of Rapunzel 💕 I'm really not usually a fairytale person, but this collection is so cozy and warming and by disabled, queer and trans authors. It's like a warm hug #booksky #diversebooksky

I want to spotlight a transfeminine book that doesn’t get the attention it should. Princess of the Pomegranate Moon by @aemiliavind.bsky.social is a wild ride of a fantasy, by turns romantic and hallucinogenic, rich with mythology and big, brash emotions. www.barnesandnoble.com/w/princess-o...

So it just occurred to me that my sibling’s queer, diverse, dystopian sci fi book, about a world where no one can touch, the rich gain power by being fake online, and babies are trophys… may not be super welcome in the US for long So, um, here’s the link… #booksky 📚🌈 📚🪐 bookshop.org/p/books/face...

I just thought about using chat GPT but instead I poured three liters of water down the drain while calling it derogatory racist and ableist slurs. I feel like I had the same effect on the world ✨ 😁 #AI

Hugo voters, I’d love it if you’d consider my short spec-fic for the short story category! Content warnings for mild environmental and body horror. 🌱 www.sanspress.com/the-archive-... #HugoAwards

I have a lyric essay featured over at Torch Literary arts called “Notes on Conception” meditating on birth, loss, and mothering. I hope you can spend some time with it. TW: miscarriage www.torchliteraryarts.org/post/friday-...

👀 Sapphic yearning and food-related trauma. Please just take me, take me now #booktok Still reading Artifice & Access 💕

This story casually bringing tears to my eyes. Very much enjoying Artifice & Access #booksky

@michaellaborn.bsky.social This is a speculative fiction short story collection put out by a black owned publisher with all black women writers. I do have a vested interest 😆 but also, you may enjoy this one.

You know when you see a cover and the answer is just yes 😂 do I need a blurb? No. Do I need any information about what's inside? Also no. This is enough.

I have a concept for a short story but I have yet to figure out how to execute it, and basically I think this is purgatory
