Rogla lore πŸ€“: He was sick that day (Monaco criterium) and apparently become cold so he borrowed the coat from Lora (I think we concluded that). The pants in thiz photo are actually just a photoshop, he was wearing just black sweatpants iirc πŸ˜‚

Still never 😭😭😭 (at least to my knowledge, unless it's some very old case I don't know about πŸ«£πŸ˜…)

Bit too far back for me to remember, wasn't following cycling yet. But a solid result for Joona πŸ‘

I was about to post my adopted Roglanation last won in 2020 πŸ˜‰πŸ˜… (although I hadn't joined yet then) (PrimoΕΎ really needs his luck to change on the Tour πŸ˜“πŸ€ž)
comment in response to post
Close, but not quite πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺπŸ˜‰ Out best changes are probably on the womens side, e.g. Anniina Ahtosalo is good πŸ‘
comment in response to post
Closest we got to Tour glory is Jussi Veikkanen wore the polka dot jersey for a few (flat) stages in 2009 after being in an early breakaway πŸ˜‚ At least it allows me to choose riders I cheer for freely πŸ˜‰

Never πŸ’€ (Finland really is not a cycling nation 🫣)
comment in response to post
Agree. Like some important GC stage they are showing minutes of breakaway riders riding together where nothing happens. While GC group is being thinned out, riders dropping etc. Drives me crazy. Like they don't understand what's important at all.
comment in response to post
Also show the intermediate time checks. It's not hard, a few fixed cameras to show riders passing the time checks and correct times. Frustrating to have to have a live ticker to know what's going on.
comment in response to post
Maybe they tested some new position that just doesn't work? Or he's coming sick? I was prepared that he would not be at his best, but this is a bit mores. At least he did a decent climb.
comment in response to post
Now he's a minute down on second time check πŸ˜”
comment in response to post
This is beyond a negative split. But it's ok, just a test, keep calm πŸ™ˆ
comment in response to post
😬😬 Not his day today
comment in response to post
Bad time for Primož at T1: 28 s down 😬, Jonas only 5s
comment in response to post
I think Vacek will probably beat Wout, his climb was good but not amazing, both Tulett and Lazkano were significantly faster.
comment in response to post
I guess so, Robbie said do at least.
comment in response to post
Maybe he was pacing a bit on the flat to go all out on the climb for some testing? Let's wait untill yhe GC riders come to see how good it was.
comment in response to post
And Vingegaard, and Roglic, potentially...
comment in response to post
Had to go and check πŸ˜…
comment in response to post
Yes, as long as they don't loose too much time on the flat, the best GC riders could take 30 s on the climb. So I still think a GC rider will probably win. Wout's time looks great, and it is, but the big gap is mostly Ganna underperforming.
comment in response to post
Did Lazkano change? I think it looked like a TT bike (had extensions at least) he finished with. He has the fastest climb now.
comment in response to post
Fun fact: Jonas has never beaten PrimoΕΎ in a TT outside of the Tour de France. But ofc there has not been that many TTs recently between them and there can always be the first time. And I agree that Jonas is probably on slightly better form now.
comment in response to post
Saw a photo from recon with Roglic on the TT bike on the Malhao climb. But maybe that was a test to base the decision on.
comment in response to post
Yes, at least Meeus, Lazkano and Wandahl he had never ridden with before as teammates, Tratnik with a year pause. Plus all the new staff.
comment in response to post
Exactly my feelings. I'm cautiously optimistic, but if he does not do well, no panic. It's just an early test, plenty of time to improve.
comment in response to post
They only have Durbridge and Walscheid up front (78 and 90 kg) 😭 Maybe Durbridge is mates with Finn and/or Welsford and decided to help πŸ€” Or just for general chaos πŸ”₯
comment in response to post
Saw a video of the beginning of the echelon, it had Jayco (why?) and Red-Bull-Bora (for FFB) driving the split
comment in response to post
Yes, Roglic said that the TT was one reason he came to Algarve, they clearly want to do some testing and this is a good TT for that.
comment in response to post
Herregodos and Vermeersch
comment in response to post
But also depends if they have enough domestiques in the front group to push it for 100 kms. At least Lotto and Movistar will probably chase hard.
comment in response to post
Yes, will be interesting. I think some who are not that comfortable on TT bikes will change. Roglic and Vingegaard I'm not sure since they are good at climbing with the TT bike too. But maybe?
comment in response to post
Anyone else miss out except Vine and Bjerg? The list of riders in the front echelon is not complete (says 40 riders, only lists ~20), is e.g. Van Eetvelt there?
comment in response to post
Yes, I think they will be close in level. Christen will be also motivated and is on great form, also Morgado and Vacek will be interesting to see.
comment in response to post
Almeida will be super motivated to win GC infront of home crowds, I expect a good TT from him. For PrimoΕΎ it's the same as Jonas, mostly testing new things πŸ‘‡ bsky.app/profile/noor...
comment in response to post
Roglič has been working this winter with Dan Bigham, who changed from Ineos to Red-Bull-Bora Head of Engineering last autumn. Roglič said in beginning of Algarve that this TT was one reason he came to Algarve πŸ‘€
comment in response to post
I'm not sure what to expect myself. Hoping Roglič does a good ride of course πŸ€žπŸ€žπŸ€πŸ€, but he is not in top form yet, so not sure how he will do. I expect the top 3 favourites to be relatively close to each other so it could be exciting until the finish line, that climb can make the difference.
comment in response to post
Current betting odds have Vingegaard as favourite for the stage win, followed by Almeida, then Roglic, then Ganna. Almeida is the favourite for GC narrowly over Vingegaard.
comment in response to post
He should have opened up his sprint earlier, now he had no time to even try to pass Scaroni with the twisty finish. Definately a tactical mistake.

Nice spot 🫑

Get well soon β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή I've also got an annoying shoulder injury that just won't go away. It's not too bad but it's been hurting for two months (after I ffll on ice in December) and just won't get any better 😞
comment in response to post
Detective @ttjash.bsky.social figured it out (on twitter) 😁 She even got the photo of Roglic with bike number 46 (Tratnik's bike). So thanks to her πŸ™
comment in response to post
Yes, your boy and his bike did well 😁 @tratnikstan.bsky.social
comment in response to post
Roglic came in on Tratnik's bike, that's why he was at first missing. Roglic apparently had a mechanical before the last climb and changed bikes. That's why Red-Bull-Bora were not on the front when Visma were pushing.
comment in response to post
Peak condition I think Roglic and Jonas are better, now I think it's pretty equal/hard to call beforehand. But it's also not totally flat like Tirreno, even the "flat" part is gently up and down snd final climb important.
comment in response to post
Unless someone is in clearly better/worse form I just expect the level to be pretty similar. Almeida has been close to (or even better than) Roglic in TTs when Roglic is not at his best. Vingegaard is also solid, but outside of the Tour not usually spectacular. But we'll see, I'm curious.
comment in response to post
Yes, I'm very curious about it. Has Bigham and others made any changes in his position, how is his form in a TT test etc.? πŸ‘€
comment in response to post
And Vacek could be dangerous for a top TT and GC result too, he's in good form.
comment in response to post
In the TT I expect pretty small gaps between the top contenders, who I expect to be Roglic, Almeida and Vingegaard with Morgado close too. But don't know who will win the TT or GC. The course looks good for PrimoΕΎ, it has some undulations also in the flat part. But he might still be building/testing
