A good short read in these trying times. Sabotaging a regime can take lots of forms. For example, under slavery, lots of farm equipment broke on a regular basis, slowing down productivity. Overseers and planters mistook this for laziness. survivethetyrant.infy.uk/SurviveTheTy...

Just responded to a DNC text shilling merch for Black history month. I will donate to orgs that actually do something about the current crisis, I already have enough t-shirts, thanks. John Lewis must be rolling in his grave.

I’m working on a project about the designer of this kit. Adam Grant (nee (Grochowski) was a Polish Catholic detained at Auschwitz & Grusen camps by the Nazis, then spent 5 years as a DP @ Regensburg. That he survived to be a successful artist, husband & dad in the Midwest is a miracle of resilience

The end of telehealth for Medicare on 3/31/2025 is actually an *extension* of a temporary program started under COVID, and the extension was granted before Trump. Call your reps to make it a permanent feature.

Mapquest, baby!

To those of you posting stuff here from Felonious Musk’s hell site: Please stop. Xitter needs to be starved, attention is a nutrient.

St. Denis in Paris. One of my all time favorite buildings. The effect of colored light through the windows is Abbott Suger’s “lux nova”- an expression of divine presence

Of all the dumb & dangerous things the fElons are currently doing, gutting air traffic control is surely going to produce the most immediate and spectacular evidence of failure. Wish I didn’t have flights already planned next month.

The Landsdowne Portait of Washington. Posted in honor of a politician who set the precedent of calling the president “Mr. President” rather than “Your Excellency” in recognition of the principle that no citizen is above the law.

It seems like the American experiment was a victim of its own (qualified) success. Enough people got to a point of being fat dumb & happy that they had never seen why it’s beneficial to have layers of bureaucracy that keep things fairly stable. (Thread)

It’s a cold gray day in the American Midwest, so I’m thinking about this view I took in Ireland a few springs ago. It really is that green.
