I think it's ok to give people a little grace if they make a mistake, say something off, or post sth with problems. None of us are perfect, and insta-cancelling makes people afraid to speak and participate, which I don't think is the culture we want. More than the one-offs, it's patterns that matter

I am looking to plant leeks in the back garden this year, and I am very amused to find that one of the most common is the Lancelot leek, which has a “sturdy white shaft”. Funny as both a medievalist who knows what leeks represented, ahem, and a writer of Arthuriana.
