If anyone mouthing off about the life of luxury that those on #DisabilityBenefits are living, then I challenge them to give it a go. Oh, but you have to live with the disability part too. No one wants that but they sure go on about the "free car" lol.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that any man living alone past the age of 65, will eventually begin sending cards full of newspaper clippings to his children (with or without notes). In my dad's case, he adds speech captions to the pictures.

I might be the only British disabled person who feels this way, but I'm quite opposed to the Nimbus card having a monopoly on proof of #disability for things like gigs/shows.It's a paid scheme so we have to PAY to prove we're disabled, which doesn't sit right with me. It's just a middleman.

I've made a dentist appt for when we're next down in London in March. I've kept my dentist there as it's nearly impossible to even get a PRIVATE dentist here in Norwich now! This means patchy checkups & delayed treatments as I have to fit it in around existing plans. Dad does the same - from Durham!

I've been feeling shite since Friday, after feeling utterly dismissed by the pain clinic doctor who tried to deny that painkillers did anything at all for pain caused by #EhlersDanlosSyndrome. I now feel lucky that I got on my current (partly ineffective) meds years ago if this is the NHS rule now.

I have an appt with pain management in 90 mins. I've been waiting literal years: 3 in London for an assessment then 3 more waiting fruitlessly. Now I've moved, I've waited about a year to reach the top of the waiting list here which is better. Still not getting my hopes up too much. #chronicpain

Got my #PIP letter - I've been awarded it for "an ongoing period" so no solid expiry date. Hopefully this won't mean "anytime we feel like it" as it'd be nice to have more than a couple of years of feeling secure! I also hope the #disability #benefits shakeup doesn't change this, my only income!

I know it's relatively unlikely that Labour will target PIP in their #benefits shakeup, but I'm anxious about it anyway. When I moved in with my partner I lost ESA and SDP (severe #disability premium) because the DWP assumes I'm his dependant and we're all ok with it. PIP is my only regular income 😐

The current discourse re: antidepressants being at best ineffective and at worst dangerous is doing my head in. When I was 15 I thought I'd be dead by 18. At 20 I didn't think I'd see 30. Somehow I'm still here, nearly 40. In my worst years only the meds got me through. #MentalHealthMatters
