Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson. Oof, this was a SAGA. Many twists and turns. Lots to learn about Caribbean diaspora. Forever love food stories laden with rich family legacy.

Hello Beautiful by @annnapolitano.bsky.social broke my heart. Appreciated the vibrant sisterly love. Parts of this will stick with me forever.

Same As it Ever Was by Claire Lombardo was excellent. Fiction writing/ family saga at its finest. I LOVE the way she writes- so observant, so emotional. Her previous book (The Most Fun We Ever Had) was also fantastic.

The Women by Kristin Hannah. I wanted to see what the hype was about. I needed a reliable story narrative. It was interesting to read about American nurses in Vietnam, but there was much contrived about the love(s) in this story. Might I suggest The Mountains Sing by Nguyα»
n Phan QuαΊΏ Mai instead?

Turtle House by @amandachurchill.bsky.social - which I had read in manuscript form years ago for Reese Witherspoonβs LitUp committee for marginalized voices. Fun to read it in its final iteration. Still thinking about the grandma.

I would say @nqcliteracy.bsky.social βs Nourishing Caregiver Collaborations is one of mine. It felt like a conversation, it was warm and I love this genre of teaching practice and memoir woven together.
