Watching scientific experts being fired indiscriminately by trust fund teenagers under the banner of “merit hires only” gives me similar feelings to watching books banned and data deleted by “free speech absolutists”

In our Learning Club @cmc-lab.bsky.social today (= Feb 20, Thursday, 2 PM CET), @nosrat.bsky.social will tell us about his recent preprint (bsky.app/profile/nosr...). If you'd like to attend, send an empty email to [email protected] to get the link!

If you’re a PhD or a postdoc attending Cosyne, don’t miss out this opportunity to mentor an undergrad to guide them through the meeting (which will likely be their first scientific conference ever).

Meet @sdrsd.bsky.social, who recently joined the Crick on secondment from Imperial. His lab builds computational models of brain networks to better understand how brains work. We caught up with Sadra for a quick Q+A about him and his lab 👇 www.crick.ac.uk/news/2025-02...

Exciting news! My PhD work with @flor-iacaruso.bsky.social is now online as a preprint! We explored how the timing between visual and auditory stimuli shapes multisensory interactions. Check it out!

Just out - really exciting new work by @gaiabianchini.bsky.social @flor-iacaruso.bsky.social

You might have been thinking, "when the rate of occurrence of climate change related disasters becomes overwhelming, people will finally wake up to the fact that climate change is real" Absolutely not. Instead, they will blame the disasters on "wokeness"

Spikes versus rates is it? Hmm. Hypothesis: spikes carry all the information and rates can be used to indirectly decode some of this from an experimenter perspective because the brain allocates more energy (more spikes) to important signals. 🧠🤖🧪

#Cosyne2024 was a blast! It was amazing to have the chance to introduce #SPARKS🎆 to the community in a talk. Feel free to reach out if you want more details, and stay tuned for the upcoming preprint and code release! #neuroskyence #NeuroAI
