Great day out in Cornwall yesterday with @pringlebirder.bsky.social & Darren. 77 species seen including Booted Eagle & Common Sandpiper at Marazion, Black Redstart & Spoonbill at Hayle, 3 Ring-necked Duck at Dozmary, Green Sandpiper & Green-winged Teal at Treraven @cbwps.org.uk #ukbirding

A 5-day break to Poland with the family produced 37 species. 3 lifers for me were Black Woodpecker, Crested Tit & Short-toed Treecreeper. 5 Dipper together were nice to see. Also the very localised Tatra Chamois high up on the mountains!

A return visit to Broadsands after work today had the Scoter flock from Monday a little closer and so as able to pick out the Surf Scoter this time. Not much rise on the water but a Firecrest and 2 Cirl Bunting in the car park #ukbirding #devonbirding

A nice pit stop at Broadsands en route to Plymouth for work produced at least 14 Cirl Bunting, Black-throated Diver, 3 GNDiver, Red-necked Grebe & a small raft of Scoter (too distant to see if anything unusual with them) #ukbirding

Wish I took my camera, 2 Short-eared Owl showed well at Barbury Castle this evening #ukbirding

A lunchtime walk around some local fields today produced 3 more year ticks - Feral Pigeon (5), Yellowhammer (3), Sparrowhawk (1). The large finch flock that was there in the fog last weekend had virtually disappeared but 12 Greenfinch was nice to see

36 species on patch this morning with 3 patch year ticks - Linnet (5), Fieldfare (13) & Snipe (1) #ukbirding

A cold and foggy walk around the fields near Blunsdon produced a whopping 67 Red-legged Partridge. Also my first Snipe and Jay of the year #ukbirding

A few nice birds today with pre-work and lunch visits hauling in Kentish Plover, Slav & Black-necked Grebes, Scaup, Great Northern Diver & Cattle Egrets #ukbirding

A quick lunchtime visit to CWP produced 13 year ticks. Nothing out of the ordinary with Marsh Harrier & Great White Egret being the highlights #ukbirding

Trying to do some more patch birding this year at Tadpole NR. Been a slow start after a couple of visits so far with 44 species so far, including 2 flyover patch ticks of Egyptian Goose & Canada Goose

Was great to see a coouple of unringed Common Crane flying over Swindon last week #ukbirding

After finding my first patch Barn Owl yesterday it was a joy to see 2 birds together this morning. One of them even came over to say hello! #ukbirding

Finally got my first Barn Owl of the year this morning, and nice it was a patch tick too! The clear highlight of a short visit to Tadpole which also included a fly Siskin and 3 Raven #ukbirding

Great day out in Norfolk yesterday with 89 species seen including 4 year ticks - Tundra Bean Goose, Hume's Warbler, Shore Lark & Red-Necked Grebe #ukbirding Also on Friday a local patch tick with a drake Mandarin

Revisited an old haunt for a couple of hours this morning - Staines Moor. Highlights of at least 3 Water Pipit, Goosander, Green Sandpiper and this fantastic looking leucistic Stonechat!

Also backing up the Pied Wheatear were 3 stunning Black Redstart @birdguides.bsky.social

Fantastic sunrise at Seaford this morning, and even better the Pied Wheatear showed well when I returned to the area at lunchtime. A lifer for me @birdguides.bsky.social

3 Fieldfare over the garden, the first ones this year

Just 1 moth in the trap this morning but it was worth it as it is a Wilts tick for me - The Delicate

Very soggy walk from Castle Eaton this morning. No sign of LYellowlegs (but v foggy). Highlights of 47 species: Marsh Harrier 24 Fieldfare, 62 Redwing 2 Water Rail 1 Ruff 12 Dunlin 3 Great White Egret 32 Little Egret 2 Green Sandpiper Siskin

Final day in Cornwall, a bit of vismig over our start just thing produced c300 Chaffinch, 50 Skylark, 25 Mipit. En route home another 2 Chough at Trevose Head

An appalling seawatch toss morning, soaked through to the bone with hardly any birds. Year ticked Chough at Porthtowan was a nice consolation though

Family holiday in Cornwall off to a quiet start but a Firecrest calling around Pendennis Head this evening was nice. A few Finches, Larks & Pipits overhead along with some flocks of Woodpigeon on the drive down

Not much in the tap the last couple of nights but Acleris notana\ferrugana was a new one for me. Also Scarce Bordered Straw, Green-brindled Crescent, Barred Sallow and a handful of Diamond-back

48 species on a lunch visit to New Passage included my first Water Pipit of the year, plus Spotted Redshank, Greenshank, 4 Pintail & plenty of other waders

37 species around Tadpole this morning with patch tick Yellowhammer. Also Marsh Harrier, Snipe, 53 Stock Dove, Sparrowhawk, 16 Redwing, 42 Goldfinch

Nice to do a bit of local birding, first time in a while! Over Tadpole this lunchtime highlights of Stonechat, Raven, 7 Buzzard & 4 Red Kite

Nice to hear my just Redwing of the autumn over the garden this morning. Only had half hour but also a mix of finches, pipits and wagtails, plus 4 Song Thrush

Fantastic day out yesterday with @pringlebirder.bsky.social birding the North Norfolk coast again. 95 species inc my 2nd UK Siberian Stonechat, also Cory's Shearwater, Snow Bunting, Caspian Gull, 3 Yellow-browed Warbler, Little Owl & the ropey Black-winged Stilt!
