Less than two weeks until we open a new exhibit, Pjila'si. This interactive space celebrates Mi'kmaw culture. The creation of Pjila'si has been a collaborative effort, with a Mi'kmaw Advisory Group taking the lead in exhibit creation. The exhibit will be open to the public beginning March 7th.

Behind the scenes, there’s a flurry of activity as preparations for the new Pjila’si gallery at the Museum of Natural History near completion. Sr. Curator for Archaeology, Katie Cottreau-Robins works with Melissa Boucher-Guilbert from the NSM tech team to plan the display of archaeological pieces.

Some boldly coloured, sponge-decorated ceramics (mid 1800s) from an incoming collection excavated in North End Halifax. Someone was setting a festive table!
