Me and the next two hours in Graphite Connect.

Weekend Project! Now isdown.app/ has widgets! We've started with a simple one: a widget that displays the current status of your systems. You can easily embed it into your website with a couple of lines of code.

It's a tale of deployment. Deploy new feature; change makes response time go up. Get alerted. Deploy a fix, and it goes down β€” the end.

Sunday is for watching Tottenham-Chelsea and creating a new status page theme.

Today, I am playing around with improving the design for the status pages in the IsDown.app. I need to improve the header, I don't really like it; seems a bit off. Also, I made a mistake in the first version and should have set the same BG color for dark and light themes, so logos always look good.

I'm just thinking about how many projects I left in the drawer until I dared to launch IsDown. Over the years, I've tried so many times and never "hit" the launch button.

πŸš€ November updates for IsDown 1️⃣ @incident.io Integration: Now, you can track vendor outages in Incident.io . The goal is to put all your vendor outage updates where you need them the most.

I think it's time to refresh the IsDown logo. It took me 10 minutes to put together, and it served me well, but I think it's time to make a better one from someone who knows what they are doing πŸ˜…

Growing up as an engineer or business owner means understanding that sometimes you should throw money at a problem. Consider memory leaks. Should you spend three days finding the problem or upgrade your servers to have more memory?

The delight of seeing Bing bringing more and more traffic, but having no idea what I’ve done differently.

Does someone know anything about telescopes? I want to buy one for a kid. The price range would be around 50-100€. Any advice/recommendations?

Waking up and realizing that a server went down overnight... FML! Now, let's make sure it doesn't happen again.

How do you manage multiple email accounts? Do you unify everything in one? Do you manage each inbox separately? Which software do you use? Still trying to find the best way...

✍️ This is probably the best i've written so far. Wanted to share here as well: Everything that worked to grow Simple Analytics from 0 to 34K MRR πŸ“ˆ Broke it down into three parts: Part 1: Get your first 100 customers Part 2: Grow from 1 to 10 Part 3: Scale to infinity This is part 1. (linkπŸ‘‡)

People are joining Bluesky because it seems more "true" than X, not just posting for engagement. People started building tools to measure their success/reach in Bluesky. These tools are made to gamify the experience, so I feel this will quickly become X.

I hired a designer for the first time, and I can only say why I didn't make it sooner. What they did in one day's work would take me ages, and I would never get to that level.

My biggest challenge isn't finding new marketing ideas. I usually fail to monitor them and give them the time to succeed or fail. My engineering brain is set on short-term rewards.

Tuesday evening is an excellent time to launch an outbound campaign. Is the 10th time the charm? It would be great to find someone to help me with this. Any recommendation?

Who is going to be the first to make a directory for Bluesky related tools?

For BF deals, instead of buying something new, I will take advantage and upgrade to yearly plans with a bigger discount.

Thinking about what I should do for Black Friday for isdown.app. Don't want to give discounts.

Now @isdown.app is also posting to Bluesky. Follow it to get the latest updates on major outages happening in the most popular services on the internet!

Hi Bluesky! I've been building isdown.app for the last 4 years! It has been an incredible journey, bootstrapping the business!
