Age yourself with a movie you saw in the theatre

I'm sharing an image a day to celebrate the vibrant and unique culture and history of Canada. Today, it is the giant wooden head that warned people to drive carefully on the highway between Revelstoke and Golden, BC. in 1954. #ProudlyCanadian 📸LAC 4814882

My hospital today doing blind coffee taste testing to pick a new brand for our cafeteria. I will be thrilled to see the backside of Starbucks in this building.

I was the only person in my little circle to get the alert on my phone when the earthquake happened. It came up pretty much within 5 seconds, so that’s impressive. But the reach wasn’t great. Although, I mean… I also didn’t need an alert cause I felt it.

One of the most fun parts of working in ICU is getting to help your pregnant coworker film the ultrasound of her baby at the end of shift.

North Of North on @cbcgem.bsky.social is such fun watch! I love the CBC so much. I’m glad I remembered that Gem has tons of great shows

So, the CAN-USA game… we’ve stopped pretending it’s a hockey game, I guess 😬

How long until publicly funded entities such as VCH and @bcferries.bsky.social are going to source local coffee producers and get rid of the horrendous “Brewed By Starbucks” garbage. Seems like a really easy thing to change and support local.

This is hopeful news. I will take to the streets to stop this fuckery.

Your Daily Affirmation: It ain't over. It ain't over. It ain't over. While every note of hope buoys my spirit, and every revelation of truth heartens my resolve, I rise up, aware that it ain't over, and nothing worthwhile is achieved without perseverance. RESIST FASCISM

I know teenage boys eat a lot. I know they need to. But dear god, watching my 14 year old inhale 4 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, and a smoothie for breakfast is like watching money melt to nothing in front of me. And he’ll be hungry again in an hour

Every winter I question why the fuck this stretch of sidewalk is never cleared despite it presumably being @cityofnorthvan.bsky.social property. It’s been a construction site for 2 years with the new rec ctr and still no one clearing. It’s the connection from above the hwy to central Lonsdale

YES. And especially the point about the cost of business leases and how the current market makes small local businesses fail because of the lack of rent control for business spaces. I want the cute shops selling local products and I want them to be successful.

I want to see the NDP and Liberal leaders act like we are on the brink of disaster Run one candidate in each riding that has the best chance and the other drop out because YES that IS how bad this is going to be. Ford has given Elon bribe money. Elon will want to and WILL BE ALLOWED to instruct Ford

B.C. human rights commissioner wants study of police in schools after board's firing (BC)

Now would be the perfect time for the federal govt to ACTUALLY hold the rich assholes who overcharge us at the grocery stores accountable price gouging

Know what streaming service is full of tons of excellent content, all for FREE? @cbcgem.bsky.social The CBC and the content they make are so important. Also, they have all of Killing Eve on there. It’s only wins.

What an amazing job the woman singing the anthems at the Canucks game. Her voice was beautiful while people booed the US anthem, and I hope she felt the cheers for her. That’s the loudest I’ve heard O Canada sung at a game in a long time.

I would be so mad if I still lived in the city of Vancouver and had Ken Sim as my mayor. I really feel for all the smart people who saw through his bullshit, and got stuck with this twat.

My improving baguette game continues! Literally the easiest and tastier than any grocery store version here. 🤤

This is such a shame. I love all the murals that have gone up over the last few years.

Love when I remember that I’m an excellent cook! Steak frites with prawns, green beans and red peppers, and a little peppercorn sauce on top for pizzazz!

Sitting in my reading nook chair with no one else home and it just being quiet is such a lovely thing

Hospitals be really hospitaling this week. If you haven’t been sick with a virus yet, know that you will!

I haven’t been on twitter in well over a year. Maybe more. Finally got into my account and deactivated it. Mostly because I kept getting notifications of attempts to get in the account. Bye bye forever, fuckos!

Irrational hatred of this painting that lives in one of the staff bathrooms at my hospital. I hate it so much. Sorry to the artist. I don’t know if that’s the emotion you were trying to evoke, but know that you certainly got something out of me

Whatever virus this cold stems from is so annoying. It’s been over a week now of not feeling terrible but like, just a bit worse every day. Like, the box of Kleenex sits beside me now. But I can still breathe out of my nose. Can it just shift off now so I can go for a run?

Your Daily Affirmation: I'm smiling at everyone today. Just to make them think I might be up to something. #waffles

What the fuck happened at the start of this post?🤣. *The cold I so smuggly*

I cold I so snuggly thought I had managed to swerve the worst of made a fool of me with a boomerang. Ever wake up and wonder who let in the raccoons you obviously fought in your sleep? It’s a puffy face today for sure.

As a nurse who stood in the cold for 6hrs on the first day I was eligible to get a Covid vaccine (and I count myself as so lucky to be in the very first batch of nurses who did), it’s appalling that talk of accommodations even happened.

Husband put on REM’s Monster album and dear god, the young’s will never understand the song Star 69. I feel old? Am I nostalgic? Maybe. But also, give yourself a treat and put this album on

Wanna know what my double code blue, plus a code stroke, plus a couple respiratory distress at hospital end of day looks like. Fucking munchie mix. That’s what. Salty fatty carb goodness. Get in me and make me whole again!

So glad that my husband bought me some ski lessons for a Christmas present (despite our no present plan as we went to Europe for the holidays). Had my first lesson today and it was awesome to get pointers for how to improve my skiing and make it so I’m not working so hard. Yay!!

My kid got CD’s from his friend for his birthday. We haven’t had a CD player for a long time. These CD’s are the same as some in my own CD collection that I haven’t had the heart to get rid of yet. Kid is now hunting through my CD’s. I foresee a purchase in our future 😂

[elmo voice] I'm batman

Props to Doug Forcett of Calgary, Alberta who on October 14, 1972, during a magic mushroom trip, described to his friend Randy the nature of the afterlife with about 95% accuracy.
