Americans want universal healthcare, not a colony on Mars. And don’t tell me it’s about “innovation.” Making sure every American has housing, food, and healthcare is innovation, too.

Ok that made me laugh

Heads up to ALL:

Elon Musk receives $8 million a day from the federal government.

my view is that as soon as the administration froze disbursement of congressional appropriations we entered constitutional crisis territory

Kill the doomer in your head. And long as we’re here there’s hope. And as long as we’re here there are opportunities to act. People, both in the U.S. and around the world, have always organized and struggled through seemingly impossible conditions. www.jphilll.com/p/kill-the-d...

that’s right.

I’ll say it again. What makes this platform different is that it’s moderated. And, The Terms of Service are enforced. Bluesky is not like Twitter The world needs a platform where people who disagree can have a real discussion.

I feel like Bluesky already knows this, but Theil and Palantir are deeply evil. The company makes money on the deportation industry and war through surveillance tech and military software, among other things.

It's wild how AI is seemingly both woefully inevitable and universally* undesirable.

Let me say this: Jasmine Crockett has become one of the strongest members of our party. She hasn’t stopped fighting and neither has she kissed the ring like so many others. She’s a future House Speaker.

We are members of Congress at the Treasury Department. We want to be let in to provide oversight on behalf of our constituents. @jasmineforus.bsky.social @sethmagaziner.bsky.social

There is still beauty in this world

The anger and rage that is being harnessed by the anti-DEI movement is anti-Blackness at its root. Just like “CRT” and “woke” and “BLM” These folks are using these terms as a placeholder for what they really mean. That’s why we must push back.

I would much rather have qualified and experienced DEI hires than unqualified buffoons that suck up to the boss and don't know how to do the job or even care to learn how to do the job. But, that's just me.

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it. Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice. But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word. They aren’t firing for a reason.

Alright all - I'm stepping away for this evening. I'll be back in later tonight to see if there's any more updates. Stay safe, if you're trans, stay with us, we are not giving up. And most of all... these EOs are not law, they are not passed by congress, do NOT comply.

On day one Trump's EO said we were harmful to kids. On day two, it said we were dishonorable and disloyal. On day three, it said we were unAmerican. Transgender people have been a part of this country for centuries. We are not going anywhere. Do not comply with these EOs, they are not law.

Elon Musk also murdered those people who are now being fished out of the Potomac.

ChatGPT is down? Huh. Crazy how that doesn't affect my life in literally any way at all

tarot for the collective today - “raccoon, the generous protector. this robin hood…has the uncanny ability to assist others without allowing them to become victims or dependents…tends to the needs of the tribe before taking any for themselves. uncommon lack of greed. who needs you?” -medicine cards

I just found out A.I. was used to “enhance” the singing in EMILIA PEREZ and considering how subpar almost all of the singing is in that film, that speaks volumes (ironically) about the crappiness of both A.I. and EMILIA PEREZ.

All this today, but no denial.

Press conference with Washington State AG Nick Brown. The AG office won a court order to freeze the executive order executed by the new regime to unconstitutionally revoke birthright citizenship:

I think I’ll probably do this every day for the next four years

The TikTok ban is the crowning culmination of years of inexcusable ignorance by our government about social platforms and how tech functions at the most basic level. They've had decades to figure this out and simply have no clue. This own goal will hurt the populace and empower autocrats. Well done.

This TikTok thing is like a stupid version of the Iranian Hostage deal with Carter/Regan

the TikTok algorithm is so good that it even served up the perfect video to act as the background for its ban announcement

Yall TikTok is really gone 💔

welcome, TikTok refugees! we are basically nothing like TikTok whatsoever here but we’re an excellent place to complain about it

My shaylaaaaa 💔💔💔💔 #tiktokban #tiktok

This year the six biggest US banks are giving more than $100 billion to shareholders through dividends and stock buybacks.

Every time someone is like “man, where has the time gone?!” I wanna be like…work babes - you’ve been losing years of your life to labor

This is a post about animal excrement and the English language. bull$#!% = nonsense/lies chicken$#!% = petty or cowardly horse$#!% = nonsense/lies dog$#!%= low quality ape$#!% = wild bat$#!%= crazy Ordered above from oldest to newest: bull$#!% (1914), bat$#!% (1971).

South Carolina, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Indiana, and Texas are considering legislation that would classify abortions as murder, making them legally punishable. In states like South Carolina, which still has the death penalty, it raises the question: is 'murder' punishable by... murder?

Angertainment is a great way to describe the emotional experience most social media platforms are optimizing for.

that's a wrap folks.

this feels like living in weimar republic Germany. we watch the neoliberal forces that make up our government consistently bend a knee to fascism and imperialism, stripping away rights of the most vulnerable whilst they work.

It’s going to be a very, very long four years. Donald Trump plans to issue 100 executive orders on his first day in office, mostly about immigration and border policies, and showing what the administration’s focus will be.
