CDS graduate students kicked off spring semester 2025 with competitive ping pong matches and board game tournaments at our Welcome Back gathering. An afternoon of reconnecting and friendly competition in the Open Space!

Research led by NYU Grossman med student and AI researcher Daniel Alber in CDS-affiliated Eric Karl Oermann's lab shows that poisoning just 0.001% of a medical AI model’s training data makes it generate dangerous misinformation—while still passing AI tests. nyudatascience.medium.com/tiny-changes...

Now accepting applications for our Data Science Research Program for Undergraduate Students! Work with CDS faculty on research projects, attend workshops & talks. 10hrs/week, 2025-26 academic year in NYC. Full details: cds.nyu.edu/research-pro...

At our first CDS Seminar of the semester, CDS Assistant Professor Eunsol Choi (@eunsol.bsky.social) discussed making LLMs more reliable by tackling ambiguous questions and knowledge integration challenges.

CDS Silver Professor Julia Kempe (@kempelab.bsky.social) is co-organizing the New Frontiers in Associative Memories workshop at ICLR 2025, featuring talks on AM in ML, computer science, transformers & statistical physics. Submit by Feb 14: nfam.vizhub.ai
