I eat grapes one at a time, straight out of the bag in the fridge. I don't have a set amount in mind, I just go until the fridge door timer yells at me. It's the closest I'll ever get to the rush of being a cheeky little mammalian ovivore raiding a dinosaur nest.

The European far right's rejection of refugees can be solved by the European far let's rejection of Western military imperialism. If there are no imperialist wars, there are no refugees. It's clear where China fits in this paradigm: it is more than happy to rebuild those nations. But Russia?

For the second time in less than a century, nazis accidentally do the rest of the world a favor by disrupting the West's ability to exert military control over its colonies. It's not hard to see why Africa, Asia, and South America aren't quick to lament Trump's dismantling of the CIA.

I'm calling it now: as soon as Trump loses momentum, Liz Cheney is going to run as a Republican and a lot of middle class moderate Democrats will gladly vote for her over any socialist or progressive. The left needs to stop appeasing them now and pivot toward working-class voters of all backgrounds.

When bigots attack an immigrant community's culture, they force that community into self-preservation mode and prevent the normal evolution of culture that the ethnic majority gets to participate in. It's either hold on to the old ways or cease to exist as a culture, and it happens fast.

Immigrants are constantly tasked with preserving their community or losing it forever. Anything they don't consciously hold onto will be gone within two generations. They have less freedom to explore new cultural trajectories because mainstream society doesn't help carry that burden.

Once we get past the crap that we're currently calling AI and start messing with real artifical general intelligence, we're going to run into a fundamental problem: we're imagining something like a very smart dog, but it will probably be more like a chimpanzee. Smart things don't make good pets.

The fundamental problem with immigration is that people shouldn't have to immigrate. They do it because their countries are colonized and the wealth is siphoned. They follow the money. The only real end to the immigration crisis is wealth redistribution back to the former colonies.
