The best way to determine that the electronic device you thought was broken is actually fine is to buy a new one. Then, when the replacement acts up too you can spend three hours looking into the issue. Only to learn it was a privacy setting in your phone all along.

What's with the new trend of people walking around talking into their phone held horizontally in front of them on speakerphone? Also, get off my lawn.

The silence is deafening.

This afternoon I seem to have been signed up for a bunch of mailing lists from "legit" companies. I guess it's Spam since I didn't ask for it, but this is a new one.

The new crossmember is now welded to the floor, taillight panel, and the ends of the frame rails. Next up will be to close up the access holes that I cut in the taillight panel so we could slide the floor over the replacement rails. There’s still plenty to do, but today was a good day.

It turns out that the replacement crossmember’s flange where the valance screws in is slightly longer than the original. Once I figured that out, it made getting things lined up way easier. A few hours of convincing and panel prep and now things are clamped in place and ready to be welded to the car

The passenger side trunk floor is attached and I did a test fit of the new rear crossmember from NPD. It’s a heavier gauge of metal than the stock one which is not a bad thing, but it’s going to take a bit of convincing to get it where it needs to be in the car.

Has anyone seen @markfixesstuff.com? I assume he has the latest @modernvintagegamer.com video on repeat.

This weekend we repaired the TIG welder foot pedal and got the passenger side trunk floor in place. It’s going to take a bunch of creative clamping, but after some initial plug welds it’s looking like things are coming together nicely.

Be excellent to each other. - Bill S. Preston, Esq.

The passenger side rear frame rail replacement section is welded in. We battled humidity and a broken TIG welder foot pedal, but it’s in. Now to let the paint inside the rail dry before we attach the trunk floor. It’s a slow go, but we’re getting there.

Everyone knows I'm not a football fan, but Barkley kissing the ring was really disappointing to see.

We’re told that we should be concerned about TDA gang members. I only just now realized that the administration didn’t mean Tren de Aragua, they meant Trump Destroying America. The accusations are always confessions.

Now they’re taking US Citizens This is far beyond OK. I wish I knew what to do.

Stay safe out there

Apparently searching for a "phrase in quotes" doesn't work properly on the @bsky.app iOS or iPadOS app, but seems to on the web interface. What a weird bug.

It's ridiculous that the entire world's economy is riding on the whims of one demented asshole. Congress has the power to stop this, but the question is, will they?

Everyone in the United States got a pay cut yesterday. Gotta say, I'm not loving that.

I just looked at my 401(k) performance and sadly, it was not an April Fool's joke.

I miss Quiznos

Eppur si muove

The weather is starting to warm up again so we got back in the garage to pick up where things left off in late November. It doesn’t look like much, but the passenger side rear frame rail has now been trimmed to fit the replacement rail, which needed slight tweaking like on the driver’s side.

Is it just me, or does it feel weird to delete someone from your Contacts after they die?

I've heard it said that no President should get the credit for the stock market or overall economy, good or bad, because they can't control such a complex ecosystem. But boy howdy, the current guy is doing his best to tank things. You really have to TRY to make it this bad.

Dear PepsiCo, please make a caffeine free variant of Mountain Dew Zero.

I just got my shipment in from @superraregames.bsky.social with SteamWorld Build. Whenever I get a new game I make sure to "test it out" before putting it on the shelf with my collection. ~45 minutes of "testing" later, I'm hooked. I have a feeling I'm going to sink a lot of hours into this.

How many plane crashes until America is great again?

It's not a new strategy, but it's incredibly effective. The longer that they can create division among us, the longer we won't come together and stand up against them. How do we get hundreds of millions of people to realize what they're doing and see we have more in common than what keeps us apart?

It's always great to see when people make something cool. It's beyond humbling when you realize you get to call those people friends. The George HraBand had a fantastic show at The Ice House on Saturday night. Putting on a performance like that is a TON of work and they made it look easy.

Clearer and more succinct than any American elected official or pundit that I’ve heard so far, French Senator Claude Malhuret sums up what’s going on. From what I can tell these captions seem to be accurate, but I don’t speak French. This is worth a watch.

With all the ridiculous shit happening lately, seeing @lowcutconnie.bsky.social at @artsquest.bsky.social SteelStacks was exactly what I needed today.

Is destroying the economy a feature or a bug?
