My neighbor, Claudette.

I got a smart birdfeeder for Christmas and these little guys are a ray of sunshine during this scary, dark time. Got to get my serotonin hit somewhere, so I spy on birds. This is a brown-headed nuthatch.

I’m reading “The Maid” by Nita Prose. It’s in this genre of Neurodivergent protagonists….others are “Eleanor Olephant” and “the Curious Incident of the Dog…”. These books seem to treat the differences respectfully…but I have mixed feelings. The whole genre seems to be comedies.

I went to put the chickens to bed (close the door of the hen house) and found an opossum in their house. I had to push her out with a broom. Her little paws trying to find something to hold on to. I felt like a bad ass! Anything for my little ladies.

I can’t wait for my pug plates to come out of the kiln. May the kiln gods smile kindly on them and grant them a smooth, even glaze with crisp lines.

Spa day at our house

In honor of Fibonocci day, which was yesterday, I am posting a photo of a spiral from a lighting workshop I did years ago.

Tiny, perfect things.

Golden hour on this lovely Sunday

It’s a nine of cups kind of day - in a world turning to chaos, I need to take time out to pay attention and find joy in what is going right. It’s a day to play with the dogs, take pictures of lovely autumn trees, and hold my loved ones close.

Golden hour

Perky little moth

In honor of Veterans Day - when I first saw the Korean War Memorial, it was a misty morning and these ghostly figures seemed to trudge off across the Mall, still engaged in a battle they didn’t choose.
