They are "MADE IN OR IMPORTED FROM EL SALVADOR" as it says in the image. But don't take my word for it, you can check for yourself at the store or on the packaging. It must be labeled as such to be sold in the US.

Have you ever heard of Rick Steves and his travel documentaries? He's really amazing and thorough, and he did incredible docs on how fascism grew in Germany and in Europe. They are both worth watching and eerily match the time line we're living through right now. Both are available on YouTube.
