Writing a young adult dystopian novel, building a food-forest, riding horses. My household contains four generations of family and most days we all still like each other. Lover of big ideas and democracy. Prone to quoting LOTR and Taylor Swift.

Because "freedom" obviously.

This one is stunning. Don't miss it.

it really, really bothers me that our elected officials don't seem to care nearly enough about Abrego Garcia, and they seem not to care at all about the other men who were sent to CECOT

Someone get this real follower of Christ out there talking to people more often. He is one of our best.

Uhhh, apropos of nothing . . .

It was always a myth…

Some people are most certainly above the law.

"Trump, who has benefited from the protections of due process more than perhaps anyone else in American history, doesn't see why it should be afforded to anyone else." And writing an op-ed is not a crime, dammit. www.thebulwark.com/p/rumeysa-oz...

He might be purposefully quite now, but rest assured the 🍊💩 is waiting in the wings for election day to be over with. Dont get lulled into a false sense of security. Those tarrifs are coming.... #buycanadian #shoplocal #supportcanadianeconomy #supportcanadianbusiness #boycottUSA

This is deranged. Jan. 6 defendants were repped by one of the best public defender offices in the U.S. They were more likely to be released pretrial & got comparatively light sentences. SCOTUS threw out a bunch of convictions, which almost never happens. They got gold-plated due process!

That expression though . . .

This Hegseth thing is funny and all — but the unprecedented incompetence, frivolity, and treachery of the entire cabinet puts us all at very real risk.

Raskin: You see that with Hegseth and a lot of other people who can actually be promoted to the highest levels of this government with the most irresponsible behavior, but they all happen to be white guys..

"Set to leak within days" is my new favorite phrase.

What's it like going through the world as a white male knowing that you are the only hire that will never be called DEI whether you're qualified or not? It's rather mind-blowing to think about.

They had lawyers, trials, most were given pretrial release, allowed to testify in their own defense, got discovery, could call witnesses, could cross-examine witnesses, could present mitigation at sentencing, and had a right to appeal.

Send clowns . . .

JD Vance last person seen with the Beatles.

About to write a doctoral thesis on the century of American politics that took place over Easter weekend of 2025 - the president posting falsified evidence to deny due process - the secretary of defense leaking classified information for a second time - a congressional rep posting a public meltdown

imagine being a four star general fired after Pete Hegseth questioned your job competence and opening up literally any national newspaper

Pope Francis’s "Urbi et Orbi" Easter speech: “How much contempt is stirred up at times towards the vulnerable, the marginalized and migrants...I appeal to all those in positions of political responsibility in our world not to yield to the logic of fear which only leads to isolation from others.”

Oh how I love when someone gives me the words I didn't know I needed. "Finger-in-the-wind-politicians" needs to become a thing.

Friendly reminder. In the United States, criminals are entitled to due process. Even if you pay hush money rig an election, steal top secret documents, or incite a mob to overthrow the government; no matter how egregious your crimes, you’re entitled to due process.

The turnout in small towns across the country has been incredible drawing crowds of thousands. We’re already seeing over one million in attendance nationwide, and events are still underway. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio all had especially surprising showings.

Personally, I think it should be front page news for at least a month if a sitting US President is using falsified evidence to try and deny due process to a man who has committed no crime, but that’s just me

So the White House story is now: “We didn’t mean to threaten Harvard, because we didn’t mean to send the threatening letter we sent, but when Harvard rejected the threats we made but didn’t mean to make, we decided to threaten them twice more.” The country is now run by thugs and idiots.

Supreme Court, if you're listening . . . SENATOR CHRIS VAN HOLLEN: "Has the Trump administration made any efforts to facilitate Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return to the United States?" US EMBASSY IN EL SALVADOR: "No."

Van Hollen: This case is not just about one man. It's about protecting the Constitutional rights of everybody who resides in the United States of America.

Let's elevate the fighters: Van Hollen for risking his life to find Abrego Garcia in El Salvador Booker for his 25 hr speech to expose on Trump & Musk's corruption Schatz for blocking 300 Trump nominees Bernie & AOC for rallying hundreds of thousands of Americans Newsom for suing Trump over tariffs

The Dallas ICE office is involved in a mass removal effort targeting nearly 200 people — many without removal orders — scheduled to be deported to El Salvador today. This is not just cruel – it is lawless. I refuse to stay quiet while families are being torn apart, and lives are being put at risk.

Every now and then it hits me that this isn’t just about 1 inhuman act or another, but a bigger picture. That the entire democratic experiment in America is falling apart in front of our eyes. It’s historic in that sense. Which then makes me wonder why all media stories aren’t framed this way.

A reminder that there is no human being in the United States whom it would be legal to disappear to a Salvadoran prison without due process of law.

There was a 32% drop in the number cars crossing into the U.S from Canada in March of this year compared to March of 2024. Forbes said that a decline of 30% in Canadian visitors would cost the U.S. economy $6 billion in losses...

Does that include the entire Supreme Court?

I put a hold on Ed Martin’s nomination. He’s denied elections. Fired quality public servants. Attempted to chill free speech. Turns out he’s also carrying water for the Kremlin. So wholly unfit to be a U.S. Attorney.
