We celebrated Annie's baptism this morning, with proud parents Sarah and Michael, and big brother Joseph. What a wee smasher!

A beautiful sunrise in this new day

Thanks to Edinburgh Interfaith for the Faith Roadshow at Corstorphine Primary this morning. Lots of questions, stories and discussion from p7.

Congratulations to our William who was inducted as minister of the Kirk of Calder this evening. Lots of old friends gathered from Port Seton, Leith, Corstorphine, Clermiston, Drylaw and more. Many thanks to the people of Mid Calder for their welcome and hospitality.

Everyone's competitive spirit was on display playing Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza at Gather at the Gyle this afternoon.

A great selection of cakes at Craigmount High this morning, thanks to the Art and CDT departments. Everything artistically arranged and cut up in beautiful squares.

Doris was awarded a long service certificate this morning, having served 40 years as an elder. She and Liz are both retiring, along with John, and we thank them for their many years of service.

Despite a pepperoni crisis the Toastie Thursday team drafted in the help of salami and chorizo and 360 happy high schoolers were fed. 😀

Here is a photo of a beautiful sunrise over Balgreen this morning, just to bring a bit of joy to your day.

And there were visitors from the East, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

What a great way to begin 2025 - watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Half an hour in and already a handful of brilliant songs to bring joy. Not quite at all time favourite 'The Posh Posh Travellin' Life' but warming up my voice to join in.

Happy new year, and all best wishes fir 2025.

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Wishing you peace and joy and light on this Christmas morning.

We had the joy of our nativity along with Brodie's baptism this morning. Brodie brought cousins from Spain and Inverness, and godmother Karen and grandparents beamed in from Australia. Bethlehem is in sight....

Wise people, shepherds and an angel were all spotted on the streets around East Craigs today. Rumours of a walking nativity, hot chocolate and fun. And a big thank you to Bob from the MidYoken who told us there was no room at the inn.

A warm welcome back from Craigsbank church to East Craigs primary and first visit from Maybury primary for their end of term service. Happy holidays everybody!

Very lovely to sing carols at Busy Bees nursery Edinburgh Park. We resisted the urge to pull Joyce around on the sledge.

One of my favourite services of the year, when Corstorphine Primary comes to the church at Christmas, accompanied this year by the school band. The brass section is hiding round the corner.

Blustery weather didn't prevent our community carol singing on the green outside the Old Parish, belting out everything from Hark the Herald Angels Sing to Frosty the Snowman.

Award winning toasties? Who awards these awards and how does one get said award? Toastie Thursday is surely in with a shout.

Christmas can be difficult for many different reasons. If you find this time of year tough, come along to our Blue Christmas service at 3pm on Sunday, 15th December at Morningside Parish Church.

Last Toastie Thursday of the school term, when we served our 10,000the toastie and welcomed special visitors David and Susan from the community police, and the guidance teachers from Craigmount (in no way connected!)

Christmas joy abounding today at Gylemuir Primary 1's nativity and Corstorphine Primary's Christmas Cracker, with Irene, Jackie and Elizabeth dressing for the occasion.

Hello! We have joined today and are looking forward to meeting old friends, and new. Here is a lovely photo of the church, just to whet your appetite.
