Why is it always so hard to type after holidays? It takes me 3 times more to type a sentence that I was typing before (type -> erase -> type -> erase - type -> happy). jeez..

the progress so far - busy with the hardest part and I haven't even touched #phoenix coming up with a name... 😭 and for some reason it is super important for me to have a cool name when I run `mix phx.new` the name has to be ready!...

btw this kind of app would take a weekend max (with nicely polished UI) if I'd use nextjs + TS and deploy it somewhere with one click like Vercel (I touch grass sometimes and not coding non stop)

so, let's give phoenix a real test drive as I think my requirements hit off everything that phoenix offers gonna build an app that has following needs (to begin with): *list is in the thread*

Extracting common UI from 2 products that even though use the same stack but built are differently is a very bad experience The worst thing is - it was my idea to do so..

Thinking about a simple CRUD app using Phoenix, but I’d love to integrate with Clerk for auth In JS (next/react) it’s super easy and fast but phoenix will probably take more time #ElixirLang

Ready for AOC 2024 (if I last more than a week, that’s a progress)

Need to save it

Practice makes it goooood

tgif

I get excited about a project idea, start doing it and then realize how much things needs to be done for a proper working thing, and I give up. But not because I don’t know how to, but because I know what it entails and I get lazy… Ffs 🤦‍♂️

Amazing release 🔥❤️🔥

Every damn time

👋 Learning a bit of #ElixirLang while building a multiplayer card game with Phoenix/ Come say Hey Warning, only bad code ahead www.twitch.tv/balver1ne

Wait, wot? Angular only now gets HMR? Can’t be right

What concepts would you say are absolutely crucial to grasp for a newcomer into #ElixirLang before trying to deploy to prod (even if it's a Phoenix app). - GenServers ? - Tasks ? - Supervisors ? - ... ?

I saw someone on LinkedIn listed their job experience as "Software Craftman" That's a new (to me) and quite poetic job title

Ja Morant is another level athlete, sheeeesh

Am I the only one having problems with Amazon Prime recently? Either this or Netflix not working properly on TV anymore, and I can’t reload my tv :(

It takes same time to wrap your head around processes in Elixir. Like everything is a process, have to through GenServers, supervisors, registry, god knows what else is waiting for me around the corner 😂 It ain’t a language for lazy people

wow it really is that easy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ magic

So, apparently I can use my domain here Sounds complicated but I am gonna try

Contrary to what a lot of people say “AI can code” I never managed to have it decent results consistently. However, using AI to help you learn a new language - is truly amazing. Using it sparingly, you can unblock yourself, ask for clarifications, examples, weed out dumb typos etc

@bsky.app is struggling this morning ain't it?

You know a documentation is out of touch when you see snippets like this
