Folks, we are absolutely choking on the irony here.

This you, dawg?

A nation whose king would object to citizens’ call for his abolition should reconsider whether that’s a king worth having imo

Before you even think it, you absolutely do not have to hand it to Tulsi Gabbard here.

Tapping the sign.

We’re going to start a revolution but only with the people who meet a very specific set of criteria that I can’t actually define.

Today is a great day to cancel your subscription to the New York Times.

Their goal isn’t to improve the governance of the most dangerous nation-state in human history, it’s to be able to explain to the people we kill with robots why nothing the United States does could ever be their fault.

I have friends everywhere :)

It is not politicization of tragedy to attribute right-wing violence to Donald Trump and his movement. It is a conclusion based in tangible evidence.

I'm very confident that the people out in the streets today aren't going to let our country fall into fascism. The enemy can continue to intimidate us, to attack our leaders and try to scare us, but there were more people standing up to say "no" today than they can ever have people-snatching goons.

If your brain isn’t smooth as glass, it’s your duty to catch a block from any idiot who blames the radicalization of the American right on Joe Biden’s border policy.

I leave the most suitable solution up for debate, but it’s clear that extremist right-wing groups have no fear of the federal government under a Democratic administration and innocent people will continue to die until that changes.

Performative decency is *hard* for people like Vance. It’s uncomfortable for someone with a malleable value system to adhere to moral absolutes that aren’t their own, and they’ll seek permission to pivot to a less demanding social contract as soon as it’s clear the cost is acceptable.

My guy has the juice.

This is how you win back your base.

70M people voted for the tornado to kill you. We should start there.

Same. For younger people, and men especially, providing a quiet off-ramp for what are often inherited politics is enormously important and you’d be hard pressed to find stronger soldiers in the long term. These people often feel 1) lied to by a hollow movement and 2) obligated to fix their mistakes.

From the bottom of my heart, I hope this person never knows peace.

“I’m *in* Long Island”

This is revisionist neo-Confederate nonsense unworthy of serious consideration or debate.

Trump gained 7% vote share in NYC in the last election, in line with the overall rightward shift in urban areas nationwide.

We’re out of time for this type of self-soothing that suggests the conflict can be resolved by copy editing policy papers.

I’m not saying it’s true of everyone over there, but Noah was always a piece of shit seeking permission to be a piece of shit.

the most incredible thing about Thomas Chatterton Williams is the passage where he recalls him beating up his girlfriend as a young man as being a sad reflection on the way he was raised rather than a bad thing he did

Never beating the “my standup career never took off so I’ll take attention where I can get it” allegations
