One practice of everyday resistance I have adopted is blunt transparency when people ask a socially-polite-but-meaningless “how are you?” When the grocery checkout clerk asked me how I was I said I was sad and scared that fascists have taken over our government, and lots of people are being hurt.

Hannah's ride for the UO Equestrian team today at their meet in northern Washington. The horse is named Woody and Hannah said that he was pretty amped up but "responded well to a calm seat." If she rides well again tomorrow she might qualify for regionals.
