Even if the central thesis here (that progressive people should be more willing to campaign alongside people who agree with aspects of their cause rather than freezing them out) is correct, Reform are beyond the pale. Always. They're fascist, Putinist, Trumpist scum and will forever be the enemy.

Fifth columnist scum.

Perhaps it would be good to give everybody access to an actual advanced education instead of pretending that forcing everyone to use a hallucinating plagiarism-and-environmental-vandalism engine built by the worst grifters in the world is the same thing, billionaire.

if Blue Labour has a million haters, then I am one of them if it has ten haters, then I am one of them if it has only one hater then that is me if Blue Labour has no haters, then that means I am no longer on this earth

America was already on thin ice but I don't think Americans quite fully understand how repulsed a lot of the rest of the world is by them now. There's no coming back from this. This is Putinist talk, unabashed and unsubtle, from the hideous leader they chose.

Seeing American journalists saying stuff like "making Canada the 51st state would be a big problem for the republican party" and it's, like, people don't like being invaded and they will fight and kill Americans if you try it. You are missing the point harder than anyone ever has before.

I do not believe in any tech product where the devs want us to view it with some form of religious awe, a divine gift redefining human experience and bequeathing knowledge unto us humble land apes. I believe in a tech product where the devs are like “this is handy for planning breakfasts”

This is absolutely not true but it's the sort of thing that bosses *want* to be true because they don't want to have to hire qualified staff, because they don't want to pay the their wages. Grotesque.

Every day I log onto this twitter clone app and read the latest posts from panicking Americans about their extremely embarrassing oligarch King shutting down the water supply or selling their navy or something. Utterly clapped country. Clapped beyond anything I ever thought possible.

The enemy of the working class travels by private jet, not migrant dinghy.

Every time a right wing business reporter has a "new idea" about how to fix, y'know, <gestures at the UK>, it's something that could be achieved much better, cheaper and more sustainably by simply paying people a living wage. They are incapable of ever even considering paying their workers well.

I'd bet this is, in part, because stealing physical objects is no longer nearly as profitable as it once was. We don't carry cash, canceling bank cards takes moments, expensive jewellery is hard to sell (and rarely owned), electronic devices (phones etc) often have tracking devices built in etc.

Starmer's team have had literally no ideas at all after 'purge the left, win the election'. They are completely at sea, useless, without a plan or a purpose, driving us towards a fiscal and social cliff edge as fast and as hard as they possibly can.

If I had a pound for every American I vaguely follow online who took a turn towards some kind of neo-gnosticism in despair at the state of their world I'd have two pounds, which honestly is two more pounds than I would have expected to get from that weird arrangement.

Just to be clear: If I post a question to the timeline I do not EVER want you to reply with what ChatGPT has to say about it. NEVER EVERRRRRR

Seems weird that a government would start making sure its poorest people can't afford anything apart from guns, but I'm not an American so I'm sure someone will come along soon to explain to me why it's a cultural thing and it makes perfect sense for some racist reason or other.

Do you think Americans realise that the rest of the world is looking at either closer ties with them or with China and almost all of them want closer ties with China now? Say what you will about China, but they didn't go full fascist because their eggs got a bit pricier.

This is what the government did with 120K+ Japanese Americans in 1942. I know. I was there in those camps.
