What should be the first mode of Mario Kart World Tour that I explore after Grand Prix?

Mario Kart World Tour is fun and all we've done are Grand Prix to this point. The kid is gonna start his drifting career soon.

@topolk.bsky.social Do I need to do this system transfer to the Switch 2 now? I don’t think I have an extra Micro SD Express card around.

Today marks 9 years since our son passed, and 3 years without an alcoholic beverage.

Hello! It has to wait until tomorrow - we know better than to give the 7yo a new toy on a Thursday night. Friday camp would never happen.

I picked up an Apple Watch recently, and even after adjusting settings, it goes through a full battery a day. Is this normal?

Guys, this might be it. Of all the things to kill me, this paper cut across my middle finger cuticle is doing work.

Neighbor's freezer died. Guess who got a cluster of king crab legs.

3 re-watches and a movie I overrated because Robert Pattinson almost dying takes some balls. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

I bought a Prime ribeye to try out the new grill (and my only gas grill, I have 2 charcoal), and it was DOA. So instead, I went cast iron sear, finish in the oven. It needed a little more char on the outside, and to rest for a couple of more minutes, but the temp was perfect and even throughout. 8.3

I used to play some live poker during business hours. There was a guy who would bring his laptop, and every day around 4 would frantically click every 5 seconds for a few minutes. He was a recruiter, ‘reviewing’ and rejecting resumes for fake job postings. That was his entire job.

More ridiculous: NFL schedule trickle, or the NBA Draft Lottery?

Proud parent moment: we had an end of year parent/teacher conference today. The first standardized test results this year were a mixed bag, the middle of the year were better, and at the end of the year he's at grade level or above across the board. I'm glad he's seeing his hard work pay off.

Y’all, we aren’t getting free and fair elections anymore. They barely were with all of the gerrymandering in the first place, but this shit is full on rigged moving forward.

NEW: The U.S. Army posted a net loss of $46.5 billion in this fiscal year’s second quarter mainly due to the fact that it’s a goddamn service and not intended to generate a profit, just like the fucking Post Office.

Once upon a moon circa 2015 I posted on that other site, or on FB (I forget) that 'There's a party of life, and a party of death', and was told I was going crazy, I was exaggerating, and I wasn't being helpful. Joke's on me, I guess.

A little celebration, though it may not seem like a big deal to some... For the first time since I quit drinking almost 3 years ago, both of my liver enzyme tests came back within normal ranges. The body is healing. Slowly.

Pulling a double feature tonight - Thunderbolts, and Clown in a Cornfield. Sometimes you have to choose which weekend morning you won't be fully rested (if either).

Does that thing about civil war start with the armed forces first, or the civilians first?

I just followed up with my wife and asked her how it affects their hiring processes. When they're interviewing off-shore candidates, "about 2/3" of candidates are reading responses from AI that captures the incoming question and spits out an answer. In video calls.

Many AI proponents like to say, "It's just a tool, you still have to understand what you're accomplishing." And all I learned last night was nope.

Talked to some college kids about AI last night, and it struck home just how sparse independent thought is becoming. Not just accomplishing 'things', but thinking for themselves at all. I hear all of the conjecture and poo-pooing, but to get it directly from the 'next generation' was scary as Hell.

I wonder if the state of California would be at all legally compelled to assist with the re-opening of Alcatraz. Because if not, I wouldn't lift a finger for the feds.

Octogenarian Democrats think, 'he spent his whole life as a civil servant' is a badge of pride. It's a sign you're too proud and greedy to serve by getting the fuck out of the way.

There's a very specific part of Sinners that annoys the crap out of me. I'm not sure if we're in the 'can't question this brilliant film' stage, or if I'm alone in this. It is a brilliant film - that doesn't mean it can't have a glaring flaw.
