Our region has shared challenges - from housing, to affordability, to congestion. We can only solve them if we tackle our common problems together. It's in that spirit that I am proud to enjoy the support of Patrick Johnstone, Mayor of New Westminster.

Supportive housing is desperately needed in Vancouver. City Council just voted to ban net-new supportive housing units. Ken Sim has turned his back on our neighbours.

Vancouver must be a city for all its people. I call on Council to reject Ken Sim's motion banning net-new supportive housing, ANYWHERE in our city.

Ken Sim said just a few days ago that the police are mostly dealing with health issues - not crime. So why did he only hire 12 nurses, when he promised 100? And why is he trying to ban supportive housing - ANYWHERE in Vancouver?

The Globe and Mail has obtained a leaked ABC document revealing a radical plan for the Downtown Eastside. We'll have more to say on this soon. For now, the story speaks for itself. READ: www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...

With two yes-men at the table, Ken Sim is guaranteed to win votes - and do damage. Whoever you've voted for before, I'm asking for one of your votes on Election Day. I'm proud to have received the support of people from other progressive groups. Thank you to Dulcy Anderson:

LISTEN: Ken Sim flounders when challenged with basic questions about his candidate (Longer video on Instagram and the other site!)

Hard to imagine someone who’d be a worse candidate for our city. 🧵

We chose in part to raise our kids in Canada because they’re much safer from gun violence here than in the U.S. The last thing I want to see on city council is someone using NRA talking points. By-election turnout is always very low—if you live in Vancouver, PLEASE vote & keep this guy off council.

ABC is running Ralph Kaisers in this by-election. Here's what I've got to say about that:

Ken Sim has been posturing for weeks about how he’s acting to improve public safety. Today, he’s running a candidate who is opposed to the national handgun freeze - a freeze that is SUPPORTED by the Vancouver Police Department.

Vancouverites have public safety concerns. We deserve leaders who will invest in services that prevent crime, and don't just invest in enforcement after it's already happened. @lucymaloney.bsky.social will fight for investment in these services, like Peer Assisted Care Teams.

Tell Ken Sim: Don't freeze out our neighbours who need supportive housing win.newmode.net/onecityvanco... via @onecityvan.bsky.social

One week from today, Ken Sim will try to ban ALL new supportive housing in ALL OF VANCOUVER. This is callous and it is cruel. Cancelling housing here won't build it elsewhere. TELL KEN SIM: Don't freeze out our neighbours who need housing! win.newmode.net/onecityvanco...

Thank you to the Vancouver and District Labour Council for your support! With our Mayor having cut wages for janitors and security guards, it couldn't be clearer that we need progressive fighters at City Hall who will call him out and fight back.

We were promised a balanced approach. Does this look balanced to you? We need progressive fighters at City Council - to expose Ken Sim for his broken promises, and to stop him from doing more damage. Vote Lucy Maloney on April 5.

The Filipino community contributes so much to this province. It was an honour to hear their stories, challenges, hopes and ideas for the future today at Langara College. The community deserves a Filipino Community Centre!

@lucymaloney.bsky.social is a tireless bridge builder & change maker. An incredibly hard worker and someone with deep integrity. And we need your help to elect her to #Vancouver #CityCouncil in the upcoming by-election! Sign up at: www.onecityvancouver.ca/volunteer I hope to see you out there 🥳

Got to finally meet @lucymaloney.bsky.social and trade my housing policy wish list for some campaign swag* Looking forward to seeing what she has to bring to the civic discussion on a whole range of issues. *happy to make the same trade w any other candidate who wants to get in the policy weeds

"@ravikahlon.bsky.social he wants all communities to do their part, but says Sim’s plan misses the mark. 'By taking resources away, we’re actually not going to make the community safer.'" If you want to build a safer Vancouver, Ken Sim isn't working for you.

Ken Sim won’t listen to BC Housing, he won’t listen to the Provincial Government, and he won’t even listen to his own caucus around his dangerous and cruel motion. If you want to bring our neighbours inside, he’s not working for you.

Hey Vancouver voters. This is good news. I’ve worked with and observed city councillors up close in too many cities to list (including Vancouver, obviously) for 33 years. Lucy would be a very good city councillor.

Ken Sim declined an interview on Metro Vancouver because he'd rather be hanging out with Bitcoin bros abroad. Our region has serious housing, transportation and affordability challenges. If you want to tackle them, Ken Sim is not working for you.

"Maloney said the renter office should reopen as a “tenancy advocacy office” and have the power to enforce the city’s tenant protections."

Lucy Maloney, a road safety advocate and former parent advisory council chair, announced her candidacy Tuesday at city hall

If Lucy just brought her record of bike lane advocacy to the table that would probably be enough for me, but she has also had an impressive legal and private sector career. Interested to see where she lands on the range of policy issues.

"We need leaders at city council who can stand up to Ken Sim and his broken promises and who can stop him from doing more damage," said Maloney outside city hall. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

With leaders like Lucy at City Council, we can fight back - and we can win. Vote Lucy Maloney on April 5.

Our neighbours are in crisis. There are people living in parks and tents, in dire need of places where they can rest and get healthy. Ken Sim wants to turn his back on them. We will not.
