At first, the players were clearly unhappy about how much Difficult Terrain was being used in this DnD campaign. But they're slowly getting over it... #PunCritWonder #DnD #RPG #TTRPG

Desire to do another #SWRPG campaign is spiking pretty high right about now.

Once again have fallen asleep listening to an audiobook and must spend time searching for the correct spot to resume.

It's pretty neat that Christopher Ruocchio did recaps of each of the Sun Eater novels in his own words via YouTube. Had a gap in reading the series while waiting on a Libby hold, and it was really nice to get back up to speed without searching through fan wikis and random channels.

Have been hearing hype for Stormlight Archives for a long while, so finally decided to read it, but it was a struggle. Really enjoyed Mistborn (both eras), Elantris, and the various Sanderson novellas but had to fight tooth and nail to get through this one.

Still running weekly DnD sessions but usually poke through other systems to plan future projects and explore other options. In the mood for hard sci-fi and started flipping through #CoriolisRPG. It's... gah... want to like it but the layout and formatting make it a slog.

The hour is late as five DnD players crawl into their beds after a long session. Alone at the table, a GM sheds a tear while erasing the dungeon from the vinyl battlemap... bittersweet feelings swell because the group got so caught up on backstories and roleplay in town they only explored one room.

Can't believe "No ChatGPT at the DnD table please" is a houserule that needs considering... but here we are.

This Andy Serkis fella does a pretty solid narration of the Tolkien audiobooks.

Silly nitpick, but the narrator of this audiobook says H. U. D. every time instead of HUD, and it's oddly immersion breaking. And it's a sci-fu book that constantly mentions things on the heads-up display...

What's your favorite pantheon to use in DnD campaigns?

Have launched the aforementioned Nentir Vale DnD 5e campaign starting with Reavers of Harkenwold and leading into homebrew sandbox stuff. Have a Pact of the Fiend Warlock and am looking for little favors with adverse consequences that the patron may ask of them.

Good GMs are prepared for everything. Great GMs are prepared for anything

Should probably get around to making actual content again instead of stupid puns, but this post says otherwise:

Starting reading the Red Rising books by Pierce Brown. Definitely some interesting worldbuilding and has re-ignited the desire to run a Genesys TTRPG campaign in a near-future setting where humans are spread throughout the Sol system but not yet interstellar. Something no unlike The Expanse.

Didn't make a resolution or anything but so far have finished an audiobook each day since the New Year. Mostly sci-fi... things like the Southern Reach trilogy, the Themis Files trilogy, some Michael Crichton, and now Service Model. Taking recommendations if you have any favorite audiobooks.
